Hi,

Im a newbie and a newbie that is starting to make some serious bank and get paranoid that everyone will steal my ideas and I will stop making money.

I see some inherent risks in having a designer make a landing page based on my idea. If it's an awesome idea would the designer steal it and use it themselves or hit up friends to pass the info along? Or is that pretty unheard of from any "reputable" designer.

Also any designer recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks so much guys!

As a a relative nube myself, I'd say a good percentage of affiliate marketing is copying what appears to be successful.

Just because you have a "good idea" doesn't mean it is profitable..
The big thing is people who scrape ads and see what has been running for a while. If an ad has been running for a while it must be profitable, then copy it..

No. Copy the concept. Not the ad. Because if you copy it 100%, you make enemies fast. Some of these people will be like me, and will end up costing you far more than you made from the ad.

Spend the extra money and get a really good designer. The really good designers usually suck at marketing so you won't have anything to worry about.

Seriously, if you are still paranoid, just have them sign a NDA.

just have them sign a NDA.

The one problem with contracts (especially on the internet, when dealing with someone in a different location), is having the funds to enforce it, if shit happens.

Mostly, contracts are not worth anything more than the paper they are written on. The most you can hope for is that the other party feels intimidated by it - to keep it above board. Sad but true.

or you luck out and deal with someone legit.

Just find someone who's sole purpose is design. Look for someone with a really solid reputation. Those people who's bread and butter is design usually wouldn't risk getting a bad rep just to jack someones LP.

^^ Agreed - good point.

Also, if you are really worried - it's best to deal with a business in your city with an actual brick and mortar commercial space, who solely does design work.

1) They are focused on their craft of designing and have overhead to take care of

2) If something does happen - well...... you know what to do.

Hello friend,

How would know person copy you and not from person who you copy from original?

Good luck bro

Many good answers thanks guys. I know if it's successful it will be copied by others. I was just a little paranoid about telling a designer about it because if they thought it was a good idea it could be passed onto other AM's even faster than it would take them to notice my ads and copy my landing page. A contract wouldn't do shit for me since they could just claim they didn't tell and the person must have just seen my landing page so they have an easy out.

I think you are right the best bet it to work with long trusted and established designers that aren't interested in stealing ideas and are to busy doing designs to pass ideas that "may" be profitable along to AM friends.

I'd venture that 90% of the website designers I know don't even understand the concept of AM, if they even know such a thing exists.

Like stated above, just work with a designer outside the AM field if you're worried about it.
