I am using Hlola conversions tracking, but lately I decided to use also Adwords conversion tracking. So I asked the publisher to implement my tracking code and he kindly agreed.
And now the problem starts - There are more conversions recorded in adwords then the actual sales I see in Clickbank!
Why is it happening and who is bluffing? Adwords or Clickbank?

I am kinda amazed they implemented the Google tracking on the exit page myself.

You're seeing "false positive" conversions in Google, so you'll always see more conversions there than in your Clickbank sales stats.

Often it's a visitor that clicked on your ad, came your page, left, and eventually bought (either through another affiliate's link or because their browser blocked your cookie). Google logs this as a conversion, but you didn't get the sale.

Well actually I heard rumors that Clickbank doesn't always give you all your commissions!
I really hope allenb is right, because the thought that i really have more sales than i see on Clickbank is a scary thought...

Don't let this discourage you because shits like this happen in the affiliate marketing world, cpa offers will always scrub and clickbank will always have tracking issues. Keep building those campaigns as long as you're making profit.

It's false positives. People shop around, check several different sites before buying. Clickbank credits the affiliate that actually delivers the sale. Prevents cookie stuffing. As mentioned above, Google Conversion Tracking is oblivious and records a conversion. You're better off just using tid.

However, the good news is, you know what keywords are converting. So, you just need to make a better LP, so people don't back out and buy through someone else.
