i've a particular keyword's minimum bid at 0.50 with ave. position at 5.0, and according to the widget, i can't go any lower. so that makes me wonder if Yahoo's minimum bid is cast in stone? I was hoping the minimum bid would drop with the increase in Quality Index but it doesnt seem to be happening...

Bids will drop when their system does whatever it does to see quality increase. Personally I see the bids drop when I start a new campaign & raise bids on tracked terms that are doing well. Spend goes up, YH likey, bids on other terms drop & you get a message that says:
Minimum bid requirements have decreased for 'Your Name' [010110011101-your Acct #]. Some of your inactive Sponsored Search keywords are now active. Review bids now.

Do u think I should up my bids to get high CTR, get a good Q.S so that my minimum bids will drop? Coz that was what u did to get a lower min bid...
I have not raised bids across all terms & I tend to use WAY more in YH, Like 50 to a ad, as long as there similar. Just the ones with high value, crank those terms up within the ad group to whatever roi minimum you have for a week to 10 days & the others should drop a bit. I'm not into losing money ( monies?? ) on any terms so if you can afford to take 1/3 roi instead of 1/2 for awhile it CAN help in the long run, dosent mean it WIll help.
