I've seen plenty of ads from doing a keyword search on google that have one display url but don't take you to that url when you click them.

What are some methods to do this other than just redirecting the link else where after google checks it the first time. Is there a way to tell if it's a bot and redirect it? How quick does google catch you for this and slap you for it. For the amount I see it being done they must me somewhat tolerant of it.

Most, if not all of those ads were there long before google bought the rule in, hence they still allow them.

So anyone else have any input? The only ads up there with fake urls are grandfathered in before the requirement to be accurate by google?

Not totally true. Nothing is 100% on the internetz.

But the ways around it are difficult, risky, and tough to implement. 99.9% of websites couldnt do it. And I am not saying I can or have. I just know people who have.

Make 3 sub-domains long enough for it to snip it at the right place? (ex: www.oprahsdiet.com.LP.com not saying it works, but it's my first guess. I'm guessing it would only work with a certain lenght address for it to be perfectly executed also..?

Why even worry about it, you should be building your own site with your own domain names, problem solved.

That's a good point, I find myself worrying and doing crap that does not matter all to often. I'll cut it out and go make more money or at least smoke pot and play video games if I want to waste my time.

POLICY DEFINITIONS:

Inaccurate Display URL: Your display URL must accurately reflect the
URL of your website; it must be a viable web address that is part of
your ad's destination domain and include the domain extension (such
as .com, .net, or .org). The domain extensions must match. For
example, 'www.google.com' is not the same as 'www.google.co.uk.' Ads
with display URLs that redirect to a different destination URL are not
permitted.

If your destination URL is too long for your ad, please use a shortened
version - such as your homepage - that meets the character limit for
this field, or contact AdWords Support. Please also check your spelling
and symbols for accuracy, and be sure your display URL does not contain
an extraneous 'http://' or 'https://'.

Please be aware that your ad(s) may be affected by other AdWords
policies; please review our Editorial guidelines before resubmitting
your changes.

You cannot do anything because Google will find your ad and lock it.

Adios.
