I have been highly considering starting up my own offer, but I have a questions about third-party pixels.

Will my third-party pixel be able to track exactly what network and CD number each individual is coming from? I would link to store this data on my end and not have to wait for the networks to send this information over.

I'm not sure how it works with every network, but it should be pretty easy to have the networks pass on the affiliate ID in a query string to your landing page or intermediary tracking script. What third-party pixel are you using to capture data? If you're hosting the offer yourself, it'll be really easy to use a script of your own on the initial page or redirect, and the confirmation page (in the code or with a pixel script). That script would first set a cookie based on the affiliate ID & network parameters (that you set with the network's link to you), and then pull that once an offer is completed, putting that info into your order database or whatever tracking system you're using. If you can provide some more info on the third party pixel system you're using or looking at, that'd be helpful.

Generally there is the af id(network) and sub id(networks affiliate)

They send this data with each hit

You need to setup some sort of tracking on your end. You can just let anyone send sales and rely on a 3rd party for stats. You'll get raped by fraud and you won't be able to optimize at all.

This generally differs with each tracking platform, but you'll be able to see which affiliate is performing the offer.

Networks don't just give advertisers access to that info in their systems. Traditional networks (CJ, Linkshare, Google Affiliate Network) do, but not CPA networks. The poster needs something to track that information from the network's link, put it in his own tracking database/system, and match that up later on for lead/sale quality purposes it seems.

Really? It's actually logical and beneficial because knowing that information helps both the advertiser and the network. If the advertiser is able to determine which affiliate is performing for that offer, then quality and volume can be evaluated easily. This in turn not only develops trust for both parties, but the advertiser will not drop the network for bad traffic; judging from a whole. Instead, the advertiser can notify the network which affiliate is sending that bad traffic, and thus resolves the problem because the network can stop dealing with that traffic now. This doesn't happen with every network, but it's def. an implementation to consider.

That's why he wants something on HIS end, not on the network's end. If you're dealing with lead or rebill quality, you really need that information on your own end to run any sort of efficient system.

If he's coming up with his own offer, then of course he's now the advertiser. Whether that data is transmitted by the network or collected by the advertiser, it doesn't matter as long as it works.
