I've heard from many "experts" that you should use Yahoo only for gathering your metrics on a campaign before you physically open the floodgates. Then, once the campaign has run sufficiently, you note your high CTR keywords, and then move everything over to Google AdWords, where you then build your landing page (since Yahoo doesnt require this) and run some more tests on your successful CTR keywords, then open the serious volume.

I've also heard from other "experts" that Google and the landing pages you need to build, etc., are just a headache, and they kick ass with just Yahoo and MSN alone.

I've been using Yahoo for only a few weeks now, and I find the traffic is not that intense... I dont see how you can make a decent living with JUST Yahoo. I have good QS scores for my words, my avg positions are 1-3, traffic is just... meh.

I'm thinking to just skip Yahoo and just suck it up that I'll need to do a landing page for every offer I want to push, and join the club here.

My Q is.. how many of you guys are making a VERY comfortable living and not going through the headaches of landing pages and Google and using Yahoo/MSN, other platforms?

Is it possible that some landing pages and keywords will perform better using different networks? FWIW, I heard that Google has a more tech-savvy viewing public, whereas MSN and Yahoo have older consumers more in a buying mood, and less able to recognize ads.

Is there an easy way to set up campaigns in yahoo? I know google has the adwords editor so I'm wondering if there's something similar for yahoo.

There is a spreadsheet import option but you need a "Gold" account. I got mine through the 202 guys... the rep over at yahoo was very friendly and went out of their way to have me approved asap... look it up on the prosper202 blog

It's a different audience as well, people using Google, Yahoo or MSN. Some people say Yahoo converts better then Google. There is no doubt about the volume, but still you can make big bucks using Yahoo depending on what product/service you promote, competition you will face, keywords, etc. etc.

pretty small # for the potential scalability. get a campaign rolling with 1k and scale through the roof plowing profits right back into it.

Not exactly. Most media buys don't start at 1k, they start at 10k generally. Then you have to realize that they will lose money out of the gate for a while so you better be willing to lose a good chunk of that 10k to start.
