$400 for a landing page designer: Is that how much you're paying?

Ok I got quoted this amount. What do you think? Is it a bargain/rip-off?

It's a design for a simple 3 offers review site complete with graphics (duh) and copy.

Graphic designer tells me he is quite confident the review site will kick-butt in conversion coz he's doin AM as well.
 


I do standard LPs for $65 and review LPs for around $85-105 (depending on whether or not you want my writer to do the content). $400 is way too much to ask for an LP which will most likely only take a proficient designer a couple hours at most.
 
back when i was working for a friend of mine who was killing it in a couple niches he was paying me $70,000/year to design and program landing pages, sites etc. guess that works out to a couple thousand per site/page. that's not much when you're profiting $10,000/day though.
 
I'd pay $5k for an LP with a guarantee'd conversion. Would be well worth it. But a standard page that no one knows is going to work or not?
 
Too high imho, you can get decent for 100$

And hit me up if you need those LP coded ;)
 
$70-$150 is generally what even the best guys in here charge. $400 is hands down way to expensive. I have a few good contacts, PM me, I'll let you know. Guarentee they are just as good if not better than your $400 guy.
 
I've paid $100 or less for a few landing pages from people here.. they all SUCKED. Always ended up scrapping them and using my own.
 
yeah all LP's i've seen on here are trash. i know alot of professional designers and most of them would think $400 is cheap. their work is top notch though. 100x better than whats offered on here IMO
 
4 bills is too much. I say school yourself in a little graphics work and build your own. Find a landing page you like the layout and look and design one that will work for your site/offer. If you truly have no skills to build one, then outsource it, but I wouldn't pay more than a couple hundred bucks.

Everyone wants to outsource work...but knowing what you can do yourself and save money is the key to keeping expenses down and profit up.
