A script that does competitor campaign drilling

I was looking for a tool that drills into competitor's keywords targetting and ad campaigns. It looks like KeywordSpy is the top dog.

I don't really feel like paying their subscription price though, although if there are no alternatives I will. Spyfu and Keycompete both have lousy reviews however.

The last alternative is a custom script that does what KeywordSpy does (in terms of competitor keyword/ad campaign drilling) For you technical guys, is it possible to create such a script, or does KeywordSpy have some unique features about their site that is not readily duplicated?

If not then I may just spend a few bills can get a coder to make a custom script.
