You can actually get interest free loans through the World Bank for development down there. I have a friend that bought an 11 acre peninsula and is doing just that.
 
Yah the island is cheap, it's the development I think that would start to get costly. You have to get everything to your island I would believe...electricity, clean water, etc.

Either way. If like 50 super affs got together and wanted to start a colony, would be pretty sick.

even is the jurisdiction where you are based has no taxes etc,, you as a US citizen have your tax liability followed wherever you go in the world. Meaning that legally you are completely fucked.

Renouncing your citizenship doesn't work either as you are still liable for 10 years and there are laws that get you if you renounce your citizenship for tax purposes.

Furthermore, any bank account you own is liable at some point to be reported. As well any company that you have shares in can be reported as well.

The summation is that if you are going to keep anything in your own name that is will be eventually traceable back to you

What the hell are they gonna do, send an aircraft carrier to your island to collect taxes? If you're outside the US, there's really nothing they can do.

yeah in theory as long as you never plan on coming back. they do track and notice large amounts and will and can get you if you ever come back and you will at some point as you will get gay island fever with all those affiliates hanging around

and laws change we saw this in the UK where they retroactively fucked expats with overseas accounts and gave them the option to be arrested or to pay 10 years in backtax

the only legal and foolproof way is you get some illiterate villager from a 3rd world country and put your millions in their name in some overseas account and control it via internet banking.
 
Basically this idea is not viable because you would be hit with tax evasion in the US, never able to return, get reported to INTERPOL so you would not be able to enter any other country without being detained and sent to the US for trial. Rather just use loopholes and live in a state with no income tax. Delaware is about the closest to a tax haven we have here.
 
Oddly enough I would think the development of the island would be the easy part. Last I recall clean water falls from the sky and electricity can be made by the sun. Even septic systems have advanced enough to work on the islands with a once a year treatment. A self sustaining house could be built for like 100k.

Also better make sure you island has deep water access for boats most 90% of them wont. Planes and helicopters would get expensive.
 
if you renounce citizenship and make it your permanent home, use bahaman bank accounts and say it was for "luxury lifestyle purposes" rather than tax purposes, then you should be fine.

i don't know how they can tax you when you move out, renounce citizenship, and tell them to fuck off.
