I'm setting up my first arbitrage site, and I have one question - does it really matter if the site has a URL of its own or if it is placed in a subdomain of another site? Since all the traffic will be from PPC, and i'm not trying to get it ranked in the search engines and stuff.

still trying to learn myself. Does that mean I could use a free host and the free domain they offer with it? Or is this not a good idea?

wouldn't matter but its always nice to have a domain name that targets your keywords too. may make your site look more professional?

not that I dont have $5 a month its more like if it will work then why not? I am new to all of this like I said, never even heard of it or even this site untill today.

yes you can run it off a free host as long as they don't put their own advertising on your page

I dont care, let us know if it makes you money. I would not have posted it if I wasnt willing to share, I just wasnt expecting anyone to actually use it.

don't you have 4 adsense ads on there? I thought the limit was 3...

also, why the link to wikipedia? I don't believe you have to quote them and it adds a leak to your page...

I was doing really good with that layout, I had close to 20 metal detector arbi sites going with that same layout, I built them to blend with an existing site that gets a decent ammount of traffic. besides driving traffic through PPC I also sprinkled links throughout the site to the arbi pages of the site. It worked pretty good, but I am now working on something bigger and better.

You might want to experiment with it a bit, try swaping the header image and header ad block and whatever else.

Reef you can put 3 ad blocks and one link unit per page

Like Stanley said, make sure they don't have their own ads. If I were you I would go with blogger or wordpress, you can make them both look like a site.

$5 per month + $6 per year is not a big investment, especially considering how many sites you can pack on a shared hosting account these days.

Arbi is good, but we are the catfish (or crabs if you prefer) of the marketing pond. if you want the really big money, affiliate is the way to go.

Arbi plays a role in identifying great niches without a big investment of time and money. It also allows you to make a few bucks as you learn. It's like having a paid internship. It's nice to be paid while other interns (like pure seo-based marketing plans) are not yet, but you don't always want to be paid at the intern level (in relation to others in SEM). You have to think 2 steps ahead in this game or you'll always be decent, but never spectacular.

I'm not saying to get domains for every niche, but some broad ones might be good if you are looking to target a more broad market (ex yourtraveldeals.com for all your travel related instead of getting super-specific like costaricatraveldeals.com)
