Google Bizopps Last Warning

Won't make a single iota of difference. They're Google for fuck's sake. Even if by some miracle the defendants actually start winning, google will have a list of the judge's internet search history on standby.

You've watched too many movies. If you really think Google is gonna "buy" the judge and/or jurors, you're crazy.

I can think of many cases in the court systems where the underdog won. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. They allowed rebills on their system for a LONG time. They will probably claim they did everything they could to "combat" them but couldnt keep up with their millions of advertisers, and that would be easily defeated in court, no? After all, like you said, theyre Google and they have zillions of employees, right? So how could they not catch it all? See how being all powerful is a double edged sword?

Thanks for clarifying this.

I just heard that the advertiser "Google Fortune" was contacted by the feds and "warned". No idea what that means. We have confirmation they have already gone after 2 networks and at least 1 advertiser.

This is complete bullshit, if people know that 2 networks have been served and these people aren't saying who.

As affiliates we should absolutely want to know what networks were served. Have we done business with them? Is our info at risk whether we did rebills or not? We need to be able to react.

But all we get is shit like "two networks served TODAY". Great. Might as well go watch Fox News.

Why is it BS just because no one is spilling the beans? I mean I agree, I would want to know, and I do, but whether I tell you or not, doesn't make it true or false.

Oh fuck, a Google lawsuit, oh fuck oh fuck their lawyers are going to fuck us, oh fuck!

Oh wait, we are all just blindly following Jon and his "sources."

Ok. So let's assume Jon is secretly schizo

What do you mean "secretly"? BAHHA

Why would he make it up? To increase traffic here? Bah. Accept it, it happened. Now let's get on with our lives and go into full panic here.

Ok. So let's assume Jon is secretly schizo, and has no sources.
This is still going to happen
All their company does is index the internet. How many landers do you think they missed?

I believe it's going to happen...it's the next logical step. In the present time I don't think it's smart to continue promoting bizopps if you can't afford to pay up in a lawsuit. But there is no need to be running around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off because Jon makes some BS post.

Who gives a shit if you "spill the beans". If a network got served, they got served. Its not a big fucking "secret". Its in affiliates' best interest to be TOLD if it is a network they have done business with.

Keeping a secret may seem cool, but there is not one reason not to tell people that could be affected.

Lol I was exaggerating. Of course google won't bribe/blackmail people.

And while your argument makes perfect logical sense (and I happen to agree with it), I still say it won't make any difference. Mostly because my money is on the fact that this won't get to court. There will be settlements long before then.

Regardless of how right one is, it's just really bad business to take on google's lawyers.

What does Kevin Hoeffer think about this?

PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE !!!

You know all of this news is important to follow, and I have 0.000000000% doubt that lawsuits will happen. The issue is, what will the court rulings be? I do know that if you're breaking FTC law, you could be in trouble, but c'mon this country is built on fine print.

Will be interesting. I do know that I'll do what it takes to not find out...

I do notice that some of the offers are so retarded as to say "Google pays you a check in 30 days", which is obviously illegal.

Why don't these shady mothafuckin advertisers just say "Use Google to get money", because that's not illegal.

First off - lulz @the tags. :D

Second, I couldn't agree more regarding the overuse of the Google brand in all these bizop offers. It's ludicrous. With the exception of a couple of "Twitter" or "YouTube" branded bizops, 99% of the offers are "Google" offers.

C'mon advertisers... get creative! There are lots of other ways you could create and present bizops without pissing off large brands or corporations with an army of lawyers. Blatant use of the Google name was a sure way to piss them off. It also wouldn't hurt to make them less scammy by nature, lol.

As far as Google allowing this to happen for a long time, I agree. They knowingly allowed these to run for months and months. I'd venture to say that if there had never been a tsunami of user complaints - Google would still happily allow them to run today, because it makes $$$.

It is clearly the user complaints that has triggered this - not that they're supposedly upset about their name being used in vein.
