One of the things I think could really help networks cut down on Fraud

I know alot of you will disagree with this. But with all the money these networks waste on software and other countermeasures to control fraud, I was thinking, why not stop the fags right dead in there tracks and chrage an application fee of say...$50 bucks... I know I know, seems unethical, but colleges charge application fees, and they are non-refundable and can still deny you.

I mean i was talking to one of my friends and he owns a small network he says he built a bunch of anti-fraud stuff. I just simply thought why not charge a small app fee. Fraudsters arn't gonna spend $50 bucks just to see if they can get into a network and screw it over. They will go elsewhere. Just a thought i guess. Please don't flame me.

I mean, if you really a serious marketer, and not a some grease monkey fuck, then you should have no problem paying it. Especially if you can make hundreds per day. And if you really have legitimate promotion methods then whats the problem? But please discuss, cause I'm pretty curious about

One thing i know alot of people will say, that this will cut down on how many pubs sign to a network.
 


That's a great idea actually which may deter noob fraudsters, however it will also deter LOTS of affiliates as well. It wouldn't be worth it to network owners, unless the CPA network was already well known and doesn't give a fuck
 
Horrible idea, any fraudster will gladly fork over $50 if it means they have a chance of screwing a network out of $5,000+

Absolutely correct. Fraudsters are already paying third parties that much to get accounts created for them. Additionally, legitimate affiliates won't pay the $50 because they'll find a network that doesn't charge them (not all networks will charge for accounts).

So the net effect of charging for accounts will mean that a network will wind up having mostly fraud affiliates.
 
Fraudsters already pay $50 or more for approved affiliate accounts, and there are plenty of regular affiliates selling them to them

I already hear the word "pyramid scheme" enough when I try to explain to people what it is I do. This would throw it all out the window.
 
Good idea/Bad idea at the same time. We'll just have legitimates tell us to piss off and go run elsewhere.

There's some in there where they are paying twice that.

Very logical thinking. Would be so much better off if every pub had that rationale. Unfortunately 99% of them wont.

And unfortunately now that this is here, we'll probably see just that.

You can have all the anti-fraud tools you want. In the end, it's going to come down to whether you personally trust them after speaking with them. Even then they will slip by. I just had one that wasnt fraud, but was posting to Craigslist with mailer data cut us for $6300.00
