I mean I understand what you guys are saying, but I cant argue because I didnt watch the entire match. I am sure she was called for some very stupid penalties before which made her flip out. And what did she do wrong? yell at the ref? big deal, everyone in every sport does it. Now if she disrespected her opponent then yes, shes a poor sport and such. She went over and shook her hand. Case done, you guys are just looking at the negative not at the positive. But either way it happened and shes still an awesome player

Fuck yeah I'll lose my cool in a situation like that. Being called on a foot fault in a situation like that. Hell, even the commentators were like, "Yo, that's something you don't call so late in the game like that".

Word just in she was charged the maximum fine...

...get ready for it

$10,000 + $500 for smashing her racket. That's going to put a major dent in her $25 million career earnings.

was watching it live when it happened. i've lost any respect i had for her -

You make it sound like you didn't have much respect for her to begin with. I assume that is unusual for someone that actually watches tennis. Also, how would even a casual tennis fan start this thread without mentioning John McEnroe - especially with the irony of him being on the broadcast commentary while this was going on?

why should I have to mention someone else? it wasn't john out there, it was serena..

and sure, I could see if she had let it go after the first time she walked out and confronted the lines woman - but to go back as if she was going to serve, and then out of no where continue on with her insane tirade, just shows she has hardly any self control.

everyone obviously respects her tennis skill, but i'd bet most people would agree that she knocked her public persona down a few notches after that shit.

In the end though, it makes the game more exciting - ultimately I'm all for people smashing rackets and going insane, making themselves look like morons on tv.

^ I guess what I'm saying is that you came across more like someone who likes to find things to complain about vs. someone who actually watches tennis. It doesn't really matter of course, feel free to complain about whatever you want and all that. :music06:

I've watched nearly every televised match for the past couple years, feel free to make up assumptions and all that.

..besides, you watch the press conference? she wouldn't even apologize.. uh, it's 100% certain she said "i will take this tennis ball and shove it down your fucking throat" in front of millions of people, because *she* foot fouled. wow. classless. that's hardly "finding things to complain about".

whats with the sound guys at tennis matches. All you hear is the annoying crowd screams the whole game. Why can't it be like football where you get the game sounds instead of the annoying ass sound of a hundred people whistling at once.
