Advertiser, Affiliate or Affiliate Network? Which has more monies to be made?

Longterm? Shortterm? Overall? Newbie advertiser? Newbie affiliate? Lots of variables here. Technically the network will be the most profitable if the other two don't know what they're doing ... and don't fuck the network on payment ...
This is a retarded question.
Obviously, you need a ton of cash to start a network. You are floating huge money. You also need tons of connections with advertisers and affiliates.

Any of the above can make great money, but there usually is a progression that most network owners start as affiliates (search, mailers, media buys) and move to a network owner or advertiser etc.

Being an advertiser is the sweet spot if you want to work from home, not have to hire a bunch of employees, etc. Just look at C2M which is a relatively "small" network. They have a bunch of guys running it and they all bust their asses every day 24/7 from what I can tell. Props to anyone who wants to go that route ... but you can easily make as much money as you want working from home by yourself as an advertiser (unless you want to make 5+ mil a year which is hard to do by yourself although I know a few that do).
How so? Assuming high 30% margins I'll tell you I'm far more profitable with far less risk/float.
All depends on what the advertiser has on the back-end.

Personally I'd rather have my own products with the right continuity programs to keep people in. That's where the cash is at.

I've seen one too many advertisers lose their ass. That's all I gotta say about that. Then again - networks without huge startup capital have a lot of liability.
One missed payment from a network and the reputation is ruined. Making payments on time, every time, and accurately is VERY important. I could not have started EWA without full time accounting, even in the beginning.
