I am curious to know if you guys mainly promote to U.S. consumers or are pushing international traffic to cpa offers. I know a lot of guys tend to stay within the boundaries of english speaking countries. (aka uk, au, ca)

Here is a post on "tapping into foreign markets" that came out today on the MediaTrust network blog.

I personally only promote offers that accept almost all international traffic.

there are lots of factors in this one - if it's transaction based, does the offer support multiple currencies or payment methods? 70% of german online transactions come from a specific german debit card. Does the shopping cart come in multiple languages?

If you're promoting software, say - is the software itself translated? does the merchant offer multi language support?

sometimes it's safer to stay local unless you know what you're doing, could flush a lot of time/effort down the can especially if you're getting traffic from PPC.

good post!

Some countries have very little credit card usage too, it's important to think about that when starting to push a new offer in a foreign country!

That and making sure that for markets where there is little credit card usage, other payment methods are available that in the end equate to a similar CPA for the affiliate and ROI for the advertiser. Just takes some more localized knowledge of the market.

We're working with a number of advertisers on completely localizing the process and initial tests are looking extremely promising.

For SERPs traffic I always have a high CPA US offer with a GEO redirect to... a secondary CPA offer that only goes to CA, UK, NZ, AU, and IE. Then I follow up with a third offer (that usually pays 25% less than the US offer) that accepts all the remnant international traffic.

Probably 25% of revenue comes from those international sales.
