anything flies with google content network display ads on the home page, and yet these tiny ads receive pencil-up-the-ass scrutiny?

i thought this would be an ad system with laid back rules when i signed up, not a 3rd world version of facebook.
 


My only problem so far is that I'm not getting impressions on an ad approved for over 12 hours as well. Not too worried as I'm sure it'll get sorted.

I'm going to be a little bit stingy here though and mention that I didn't sign up before because I wanted to wait until the system accepted Australia and so I didn't get the free $100.

Anyways, hope you manage to get the problems all ironed out quickly, for everyone's sake!
 
Guys...slow down with all the flaming. Markus has made it clear that the system is NOT ready. Theres gonna be a ton of tweaking and updating coming our way. Just chillax kids...I know we are all excited about the opportunity here..I AM TOO!!! But just relax and let them sort that shit through...Read what he said in his previous posts.
 
I'm taking this opportunity to get my LP's and figure out all my creatives so when this is ready, I can unleash.
 
We stopped recording all data by state level and switched to country level stats. This resulted in a whole bunch of stuff breaking. It its all fixed now but i don't want to set everything live late in the day.

if you have been reading up on the situation you would have REALIZED that markus sent an EMAIL stating that the new system was ready to go. All of the complaints I've seen in this thread are valid and major concerns for the system to EVER work. You aren't intelligent if you think otherwise.

Dude.. Beta or not.. Lots of ad disapproval for no reason.. or bogus reasons. Deposits disappearing some of them for decent amounts of cash... Not exactly giving me the warm and fuzzys
 
Doug.

1. System was beta, we were not actually charging accounts before tuesday.

2. Ads are being rejected for having celebs in photo's, and not including a disclaimer about rebilling in the landing page, or photo's with a lot of clevage or pretending to be part of POF. ie Someone searched for you click here.

3. We've had 12,000 creatives in 24 hours. Lots of bots it seems. I underestimated the number of people using automated means to manage campaigns.

4. Evasive, i've never invested a dime in that company, total bs.
 
Markus, will it be possible for international advertisers to be accepted ? Not only US, CA, UK, AU and similar countries :) I will have $400 when will try, don't worry:)
 
We accept international advertisers, we only allow ads in USA, Canada, UK, and AU because that is where we have traffic.
 
is there any eta on when we will start receiving impressions? i've had my ads up for about 6 hours w/ 0..
 
^Hey no ones more irritated than me that things aren't working 100%. Things should be fine tomorrow. We will put the ad server up again and ramp up the impressions. I'll probably give people more free credits so we get variety in ads to start with.

Any idea why the reporting was giving out that info? It's probably nothing huge in the code, and glad you're testing with us first. Not everyone who advertises (for some reason) tracks their own clicks, they'd be confused as hell.
 
I had seven Oracle databases go down on me in the last 24 hours. I've had numerous other programming, network, firewall, and other issues.

All of this is for my "day" job.

So - Markus - I understand completely. Keep it up though - I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. And thanks for the credits.
