Hey,

Does anyone have dotcomicon's contact info? I sent him $2,000 for some banners but I direct deposited it into his bank account (as a favor) and all I really have is his AIM and full name.

He never got anything done, laziest person I've ever met from WickedFire. I asked for the money back or to work something out and he said he already spent it all and has not responded to me since.

Anybody got contact info on this cheap scammer Brandon L. Barnett aka Dot Com Icon (lulz) ? I'll pay for it - PM me. I figure I should at least get someone else to bug him or annoy him like a cheap collection agency.

$2,000 was the prepay. This wasn't for just a set of banners for a little campaign. The $2,000 was also supposed to make him focus his time on my projects and not accept or focus on any new clients.

I'm just looking for an address.

PM me for his phone number if you don't have that, i also have his personal AIM. I met him at ASE at the meetup202. He seemed like a really cool guy who was straight up about his work but I guess appearances were deceptive. He now lives in portland not salt lake according to facebook.
 
Damn guys... what if this guy was lying and was actually a hitman sent out to get him? You just gave him everything he needed! The internet is no joke, wow.

if this was a hitman why the fuck would he post information if he has a possibility to be traced back and confirmed for his inquiry

and if you were a Hitman would you not have better, more effective strategies of finding people rather than posting on some board... and why would you post this message, If i was a hitman I would post some story that this dude was the long lost brother or some shit and have a $100k cash prize for his current location and picture, That would yield results....

All info about this guy posted here is stuff that could be found by anyone, using basic tools everyone has access to.

Obviously your post is sarcasm, but before anyone posts about how this thread could be an invasion of Barnett's privacy remember this is all info Barnett himself allowed to become publicly accessible on the internet.

You rushed me for work, asked me to drop my other clients, tossed me a couple g's and then said nevermind on the work when I couldn't get some flash work done. I'm a lowly designer and don't have much in liquid assets. I never should have accepted the prepayment without knowing what you were asking of me.

I'll call you on monday, I'm a little surprised you posted this without even calling or emailing me.

this is why i stopped taking design clients back in the day and started doing aff marketing. fucking idiotic clients pulling shit like this.

it's ALWAYS a totally different story when you hear from the designer's side.

Meh, both sides do wrong. I've gotten really fucking lazy and not responded for a few days, and I've had clients flip out and ban me from forums (damn mods) when I tell them that I require 50% payment before I finish their 90% complete design.

Not defending either side, just saying.

:confused: It'd be really cool if you started off by replying to the e-mail where I asked for the PSD file to one of the banners that you never finished. Still waiting on a reply there. After you didn't pick up your phone, I emailed you - also in that email I asked about the money, still waiting for a response on that. As I recall, you were supposed to follow up with me about it as there was nothing I could do on my side and I did not want to work with you any longer which I explained to you on the phone (which you said you fully understood). You missed like 10 deadlines and were given multiple projects, no reason to play dumb.

No one but the OP accused him. Information that he had the right to have so he could contact his designer was provided. That was all.
 
I don't need the benefit of the doubt, I can admit when I'm in the wrong. He had expectations I couldn't meet, it happens, that's downside of business sometimes.

However, I don't hide on IM and you've had every piece of my contact information you asked for in this thread since before you even thought of posting it.

I missed like 10 deadlines? I completed $250 in work on creatives. You said you would send over pre-payment for future work. I never asked for two thousand dollars. I explained where I was at with other clients and you told me to tell them to fuck off, people I had been working with for months.

You sent me an email asking me for the .FLV for the flash, which I responded to. You never asked for a PSD or I would have sent that as well.

There was an LP that was 99% completed when you said nevermind. The last we spoke I said I would have to figure something out to come back up with the money, I make a couple g's a month and would probably have to make payments. You said we'd talk the following week and that never happened.

I'm a full-time student and freelancer and I never did anything to mislead you. To say you don't have my contact information (and haven't the whole time) is a bunch of bullshit.

If you want to try to get collection agencies after me, good luck with that. I have clear terms of service on my website and within any contracts I sign. I don't think you can just randomly send people money and then expect to have it hold up in court.

Not that I'm playing hardball, I've never screwed anyone over and I don't intend to start now. Still though, you could have given me a call rather than just publicly attacking me.

I almost want to let you have fun with whatever information you think you earned just for laughs. Really though, I'll give you a call on monday and give you whatever information you want to come after me.
