So I submitted my application to MediaTrust and I received a email with a questionnaire due in 2 days.. I am pretty new to affiliate marketing and have no affiliate marketing contacts :sadcrying4: so if anyone could be my referral that would be great! :1zhelp: "6. Please provide 1-2 industry references and their contact information. Please include referral/company name, phone number, email. (Required) "

i just left that blank also, the part about refering another am you know - i said i would need to get their permission before i provided their contact info, much like i would ask my mediatrust am before providing their info

You dont need a referral. Contact Jivan and Geofferson here thru the forum and have them help you thru the affiliate approval process.

Forum Name - AdValiantJivan
AIM: Jivanads

1.Nobody is going to give you industry references if they dont know you.
2. Nobody ESPECIALLY the sharp dudes at MediaTrust care if you came in on a referral or not. There is still an approval process. One in which you are facing a questionnaire that only you and one THEY expect YOU to answer.

So hit them up directly and start building that relationship.

Yeah, seriously man. Why would anyone be your referral? As far as I know, you could be one of the shadiest motherfuckers out there. You're expecting someone to just tell Mediatrust, "yeah, I don't even know this dude but take my word for it, he's legit". :thefinger:

Let me ask you this good sir - do you have confidence in me? Enough to buy my product or vouch for me?

I remember the e-mail I got after I submitted my application to Mediatrust. It was something like, What other Aff Networks do you work with? What are the names and "e-mail addresses" of your Affiliate Manangers...landing pages...and so on.. scary shit!!

I replied saying I won't give the name and e-mail of my other afff managers and the account was approved. I never sent any traffic to them, and after a couple months they closed the account for suspicious activities..LOL

Um. Most networks do the SAME process....just over the phone....Answer the questions... not hard

I had some bad experience with them too, how could they denied me twice, that's just ridiculous!

I had an account with them at one time, I think they were the first network I ever signed up with. Didn't run any traffic to them before they kicked me out because I didn't have any references. Its a shame because I really liked their platform and they had a nice selection of offers. So if anyone from MediaTrust reads this, hey, I would like back in. I'm cool. Not some Ethiopian frauder...

From my exp, its far better to go to other n/ws and NOT to MediaTrust if you do not know some of the big players in the industry personally! If you are newbie & starting out, checkout C2M or A4D, they are nicer.

Hi XXXX,

Thank you for your interest in MediaTrust.

MediaTrust is committed to working with high quality Publishers and we screen our candidates thoroughly. After careful review of your application, we regret to inform you that we are unable to consider you as a Publisher at this time.

The possible reasons that your application has been disqualified could be due, but not limited to the following:

Appears Fraudulent (Really? I've been working 15-20 networks and all accepted me)
Duplicate Applicant (False)
Inappropriate Material (WTF? I don't even have a website lol...)
Incorrect Information (Uhh right, you know my info more than I do)
Insufficient Information (??)
Not Ready to be a Publisher (This one's the BEST...lol)
Payment Term Issues (???)
Reference Check did not meet our Criteria (Shoulda called me)
Unable to Contact (Not true, I'm always available)

We wish you the best for future success.

Best regards,

The MediaTrust Team

If you have a problem... why not just call them up. I guess some affiliates are just retards. Btw, Geofferson at mediatrust is one the best AM's in the industry.

We're not trying to be jacka$$es to legit pubs out there, we're just strict about who we let in at the front gates (now more than ever).

Our founder Jivan recently wrote a good piece about our stance on industry fraud for Adotas. But anyone who runs a quality focused affiliate network will tell you why you need to be selective. Publisher fraud costs everyone in our ecosystem a lot of money, so we have to be proactive against it.

  • Advertisers and networks need additional resources to combat fraud (this results in slower payment terms and often crappier payouts)
  • Networks lose high-value advertisers due to fraud generated by a network or publisher -– often amounting to several millions in lost annual revenue
  • Good publishers lose money when they have to shift their resources from one campaign to the next as these campaigns get shut down due to fraud
If your application is rejected and somehow we didn't get a chance to interview you, don't take it personally. Just reach out to me and we'll take another look. Do expect to provide some info though about who you are connected to in the space and where else you run traffic.
