Yes you read it right, my blog wizkhalifa.org has been running google ads for a good portion of its existence and have been changed every 3 weeks to see if I can get better results...and nothing. Leads for affiliate programs would be hard because of the market this site is in. Smart, internet savvy hip-hop kids.

So my question is with an AWESOME domain such as this (which is his name) and literally 200-600 Unique vistors and growing..what can I do to tap into this site and squeeze some income out of this bitch.

Have you actually looked at your site?

In the main page the only thing you see about ads is:
Ads by Google...that's it there is no actual ad.

Then if you click to one of your posts the ads is in the color gray, which totally blends to the background. Not to mention that the ads have nothing to do with your site.

ad1: Microfinance Empowers, join us to help the poorest of the poor.

Uhm, what rapper internet savvy kid is going to click that?

ad2: Help those most in need. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger

....yeah

ad3: Help relieve poverty through solar energy

See what the problem is?

The google ads you are getting suck.

So it got me thinking how can the all powerful Google offer so many non targeted ads. The answer is really simple, most of your blog entries are just a video with at most one sentence. Simply stated, Google has no idea what to display.

Solutions

1. Figure out why your main page does not display Google Ads, my guess is your theme is blocking it. If you do not want ads in your main page (which would be a mistake) make sure that at least it does not say Google Ads with no advertisement

2. Making an entry with just one video does not really help SEO wise. Start putting a description for the video. This will do two things, entice the reader to actually watch the video. Also it will allow you to hit whatever keywords you feel are important...and help Google display relevant ads.

3. Even though I strongly suggest solution 2 even if you do not care about Google Ads, you might be better of finding a marketing offer that relates to your page and sell that. This way you control the ads being displayed. Some ideas...DJ equipment, DJ news, underground rap, music store, rap, hip hop, "free" music, "free" music software.

I hate rap so my knowledge is kind of limited but hopefully you get the point. You need to make people want to click on your ads.

Also you might want to add a small "support this site" or "buy me beer" or whatever with a paypal link. An amazon wishlist could also help.

Edit: Some of your videos have been removed. Either find a place that will not delete them or some kind of solution. This has nothing to do with ads but it just makes your site look unprofessional.

Have you looked at your visitors' exit stats? Your site seems to me mostly youtube videos.

I had a site like this a couple years ago. People would click on the youtube videos and click through to the youtube website. Once on the website they would then see related videos and never come back to my website -which was a lot of the videos.

What are you offering on your website besides videos that would make them want to hit the back button?

Edit - Also that Karma Loop ad seems like it would be a perfect fit for your website.

holy shit! its like dejavu haha i operated a web proxy. getting about 800/day for a month or 2 and i used bidvertiser and they are a piece of shit! i got about $2.27 from them out of that whole time...and half the time it was my friends clicking the ads...

Karamaloop offer has gotten 900 impressions, 48 clicks and no profit so far. But I put cpalead survey bullshit on the download page and the past 3 days I have been getting $6-8 dollars a day so far.

I guess my question is, is it worth buying traffic for the site? or just continue to build?

Scheme! You goon, you know how to build traffic. WTF are you doing with only 600 uniques per day?

Okay, in the spirit of helping out:

1. What is your demographic? Obviously fans of this rapper, but beyond that what kind of person makes up a Wiz Khalifa fan? Young? Old? Male? Female? Married? Single? ETC

2. How much of your traffic is repeat? Want more? Give them a way to interact with each other. There's a ton of social networking scripts out there.

3. Get a mailing list of Wiz Khalifa fans. Offer them Wiz Khalifa fan art, pics, whatever in exchange for their email address. Example: "Click here now to get your free Wiz Khalifa fan art!" Then take them to a page that lets them know you'll email them free fan art. They enter their email, maybe name, age and sex (email at least) and you send them their art. Now you can email them once a week, monthly, whatever, more info about upcoming Wiz events, or new Wiz products

4. Does Wiz tour at all? If so, get signed up with Stub Hub, Ticketmaster, etc and sell tickets to events. If he only does local stuff, get in touch with his people and let them know you have a loyal base of readers that want Wiz tickets, and all you ask is that you get a cut for each ticket sold. Sell them on the benefits of setting up an affiliate program if they don't already have one.

Want more? Work on those things first, then come back. :)

Good luck man!

Good ideas, I love you all so i am upset...

Impressions - 7,752

Sales - $0.00
Commissions - $0.00

FUCK.

I've tried dabbling with this for a little while, its called payperpost. Its not going to get you banking but its a way to monetize. Basically you sign up, and you can submit sponsored posts on your site for the advertisers. They can even be subjectvie in your own words so it doesnt look to spammy. Maybe you could try it out with some success but not really sure.

Just my gut feeling: the visitors to that site are not terribly eager to pull their credit cards out of their wallets.
