Ever Try Mobile phone Advertising?

My favorite part was where he said he spent money on a mobile campaign for a clickbank product, got $0.03 per click and no conversions and then later he says he doesn't know what a sms is.

Well, SMS is irrelevant to the mobile advertising he's referencing, but in general, Clickbank products are not the right product for general mobile advertising opportunities, and Admob is not exactly the best mobile traffic source for many niches. Hopefully Google's aquisition of Admob will help improve targeting & tracking on Admob, but it's an interesting field in the industry if you find something that can break through on it.

PM circa or his business associates... he has a mobile offer that is blowing the fuck up $0.50 EPCs on AdMob bro no joke

Guys, without making you all have a duh moment. In the US markets, there a less than 3% conversion between search activity and the transaction activity on a mobile device including downloading apps unless they come from a reliable source (i.e. VZW, Blackberry Apps, Apple Store). Euro and Asian markets have a higher hit for conversion, but it ranks around 13-15%.

If you are looking to sell a product and make it tick, even for a mobile environment, remember that you need to focus on ease of use, navigability, trustworthiness, privacy, and readability. No graphics and no robust DL activity.

If you want to see some real research on this, I can forward a bevy of Ph.D quality articles to you on the subject matter.
3%? Really? Explain my 40-50% rate, then. Yes, I'm paying a few dollars for traffic (not a few cents), but still - it completely depends on what you're advertising.

I'd like to see any study that shows a 3% CR in the US and 13-15% CR overseas. Bring it.

I don't see anything indicating that CR is higher overseas than in the US - only this, which says the average CR is 2-5% or as high as 12% on some networks.

Banner and text ads on mobile Web sites typically have a click through rate of 2-8 percent with a conversion rate of 2-5 percent, which "can be as high as 12 percent on some networks," company officials say. The data was collected by Bango customers who use Bango Analytics to measure their mobile marketing campaigns.
