I know they make big money...
Is it only Adsense or am I missing something?
It looks like they have only adsense there but 99% of their visitors are kids.. so wtf?

Yeap... Im for a totally diff niche, but one of my autoblogs started to receive some organic traffic for kwds related to online flash games, want to monetize it, and I wonder if ads r the only way??

Flash websites don't make money unless you are a website that produces your own games. If you create one with the regular games on it you can find anywhere then you join the other 10,000 websites that do arcade style games and are halfway decent at SEO. Plus the arcade/flash game sites are harder to monetize than even a forum because no one wants to click through to an advertisement when they sole purpose of coming to the website is to play a game.

My arcade site makes a good $25k a year which more than pays for a server and gives me money to throw around on the internet, The key is getting people to upload their games, think we're at about 34,000 now.

There's money anywhere on the internet if you have traffic.

Many place ads very close to the games on multiple sides for accidental clicks.

True, but if you find CPA games related advertisers then you'll earn more because gamers are looking for other gaming sites to sign up at.

those flash game sites make fuck all i say.

i think the OP is talking about the big, social, facebook games like mafia wars and shit?

it's clear many of you have no fucking idea how casual gaming sites operate.

yeah, they make no money. They sell no advertising. They install nothing. They are not owned by larger online powerhouses and used as mediums to funnel traffic to sites where purchases are made.

lol

Try reading the whole thread... It's very simple.

(Website + Traffic) + (Niche Knowledge + Correct Advertising) = Money

If I offered you £12,500 a year for doing nothing you wouldn't reject it?

The problem is, you won't do nothing. Obviously you need to introduce at least 1 new feature for every few months, gaming sites that dont get updated at all will easily lose the competition to other sites. PLUS if you lose your SEO traffic or other source traffic, then you will only have direct traffic which obviously is not good for your gaming site. So it's still not worth it

I'm sure it is impossible to automate or outsource adding new games and maintaining your search engine rankings.</sarcasm>
