Finally - great news from YSM PPC

The quality of clicks on Yahoo is terrible and not even worth it. I think I only had one campaign that was semi-successful on there recently.

You must have been doing something over the top. I bid on trademark keywords. As a matter of fact, they ask that I have the trademark name in the title and on the landing page. What you said just doesn't add up.

i got banned because of irrelevancy & trademark issues. i never use the trademarks in the ads, just bidding on the keywords like everyone else. btw, the campaigns been running for over half a year with no issues. lots of keywords in the account. (+30K) i talked to some other guys, and they've experienced the same thing... some got their campaigns shut down, some got their accounts disabled, some got their accounts banned. it's kinda random. yahoo is fucked up in a way.

but unlike google, they were still kind enough to reply my emails telling me what's wrong... they said in the email if i open new accounts, they will ban again.. lol!

You must have been bidding on some real shady ass keywords or running some shady ass offers or a combination of both. The only people I've heard that got banned from Yahoo were doing very clearly shady stuff. Nothing like Google where they ban you for no reason. Maybe Yahoo is starting the ban train as well, who knows.

Now if we could block shopping.yahoo.com that would also save a lot of worthless clicks.

Speaking of YSM, my old account got hacked and charged like $5000. Fuck. All resolved though, but damn I hate a pre-pay system

I didn't see where to block all partners when perusing through. Where is this magic button? Nor did I see any announcement about this from yahoo ( though I'm not surprised about it).

Yes, I too am looking to try to block partners and cannot find the button or way to do that. Can someone please say where to find that function?

I have been running a small Yahoo campaign for a month to complement a much larger Adwords campaign for a small local company. Because of the nature of the company, I didn't implement conversion tracking. Dumbass move, I know.

I have only been using the Sponsored Search. I was under the assumption that my ads would therefore just show up on Yahoo.com, or at least mainly be from Yahoo.com and occasionally from some side website. Today I looked closely and it seems like most of my impressions this last month were from their content network/domains other than yahoo.com. How do I exclude all sites other than Yahoo.com? That's my main question, and I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Its under admin tab. as of now you need to block them individually. upto 500 domains

I found the option to either block or ajust the % bid for yahoo partner sites. Too bad you can't choose individual sites or see which one are sending conversions. Anyway, here how to get to it:

Campaign settings
Look to the right, there is box called "Network Distribution"
Click edit

Hope this helps!

Yeah my guy misspoke or I misunderstood. As of now you can only adjust the bids up or down on a percentage basis for all - not on a site by site basis like I thought. He said there's more new features coming though. :)

This is a good start. Being able to separate out and/or run campaigns only on Yahoo or only on Partner sites is a huge step in the right direction.

I would be nice to be able to block shitty.yahoo.com subdomains though. I get tons of traffic from answers.yahoo.com and it sucks ass!

yeah this is looking more like a major exploit. Anything we can do besides bitch loudly about it and not run with them?
