how long should i expect it to take before i start seeing money coming in?

i realize this depends on a lot of variables, such as work ethic and time, intelligence, and things outside one's control... but how long would it take someone on average if they stuck with it, to make a decent amount (say $5000 a month)?

It's pretty tough to calculate how long it will take to see money coming in.... Don't let ur head spin around over it though. These were my PPC stats when I first started out so you can get somewhat of an idea.
 
that's true. perhaps users can just post how long it took them. BTW, i really didn't appreciate the link.
 
To OP:

You didn't even elaborate on what types of methods you are pursuing (even as simple as SEO/PPC). There's literally no right answer for you. Keep working hard and just track every single metric possible. You'll be able to project your success from your own data.

Theres a fucking thread that says how much a newb should expect to make in three months.... search for it.
 
Regardless of how much you want to make the formula for the length of time needed to make that is always the same: N + 1 days, where N is the number of days it takes before you give up and quit.
 
this is a "how long is a piece of string?" paradox. you don't give any data to help someone like me who has the energy to give you a real answer, had you thought through your original question.

how much money do you have to invest? how much time do you have to invest? what skills are you bringing to the table?

imagine if i asked you "im going to start a restaurant. how long will it take me to hit $5000/mo profit". thats it. could you seriously answer that, in any useful way?
 
To OP:
You sort of answered your own question. You and a friend could take the same campaigns and similar marketing routes and each of you end up with different results. I can say that some people here have started banking very early on while others have been attempting it for a while now to no avail.

TO EARN $5000 you need just these

1 time
2 good money to invest
3 ready to learn

with these 3 its just a matter of weeks before you staret making what you want
 
FFS 5 grand a month? I was all set to help you out and then you asked for the moon man !
What method are you looking to use?
 
I saw my first aff commission within 2 weeks of the launch of my site. It was with a fairly aggressive SEO method. I've yet to see much in the way of profit from paid traffic, but I'm still testing stuff out, and I really like that its a lot easier to scale than SEO.
