I've been promoting a weight loss offer since November 2009. Back then it was converting at 11% = profitable. Today it's converting at around 3% = not profitable.

The competition seems to be pretty much stable. Traffic sources are the same. Keywords are the same.

I know NY resoloutions etc all effect this, but is it normal to see that much of a drop in conversions since the new year?

Which offer (would not disclose on a public forum. See Miranda Rights)? When did conversions drop?

It's probably merchant account guidelines...

The main drop was from Nov - Dec but it's dropped even further since then. As for merchant account guidelines, would that still apply if this wasn't a rebill offer?

It's because of the rebill drought. A lot of the health/beauty advertiser pulled out of the game and are stuck re-inventing their business model because it's adapt or die. Still, there's plenty of money to be made and will be for a long time regardless of the FTC or temporary merchant account issues. Ask your network for the top performing rebill(s) in your niche, these days it's hard to come by as many great ones like there were months ago.

a lot of guideline changes that made it harder for offers to hide those pesky Terms. Now everyone has it in there face when they are ordering.

Maybe, it just depends. Was it an offer on say a traditional CPA network and is it per sale or lead?

it depends on traffic source. Its easy to say 10%. But what if its a step 2 or something.

No there aren't.. that i've tested, and ive tested atleast 7-10 offers. Gee I must be doing it wrong? I've tried your offers and that Acai Pure is the worst one yet.

Acai pure converts at 9-11% not everyone sees the same results i guess.
