Yuppies want to bring babies into bars.

The greatest problem in the world today is the lack of go fuk yourself. Everyone has started feeling so entitled. At my prestigious and famous university they actually allow students who say they have ADD an extra hour on their exams.

HMM sucks for single parents for sure. i have known a lot that feel an inadequate social presence. but i dont think having crying babies in a pub in the answer. reason #1000000 for me to strap it when i go low.

side note i remember being in elementary and being able to go to pubs after school and order wings.

i dont feel there is a need to shelter kids but babies seems a little bit far fetched. i couldnt imagine having a few beers and having the air fill up with "diaper change time".

As long as the kid is buying, I got no problems with it...

Are you really going to want to frequent a bar where the demo has kids? And if people feel they can bring their children into these bars, then they must be beat to begin with.

Thats nothing at my school they get priority registration and unlimited time on exams.

From what I understand Brooklyn now-a-days has a lot of lower-mid-30s hipster/yuppy types that want to do interesting social experiments or just keep having fun now that they are old. I think the last Brooklyn-related thing I read was that, as a protest, cyclists were spraypainting the bike lanes back on to the streets where the city had removed them. My point is that if you are trying to make sense of this it might not happen...

So basically Brooklyn is the new Berkley...nice.

This is fucking bullshit. What kind of fun loving adult WANTS kids in a bar? Every reasonable adult I know thinks of a bar as an escape. You go there to be with friends, to get fucked up, do some coke, and maybe murder a stripper. amirite? This is one of the only places where an adult can go an know they wont have to deal with children, why fuck that up? Why can't the hippies just continue hanging out at Starbucks or Barnes and Noble? Isn't that thier domain? They wouldn't like it if I showed up to a Borders drunk out of my skull ranting about politics and chicks who use their teeth during a blow job! Fuck.

Here in Japan I sometimes see parents bring their babies/young kids into a bar or even nightclub. It doesn't happen often, and I don't know whether it's legal or that people just assume it's not a big deal. But my biggest concern about it is that those places are full of smoke, which isn't healthy for the kid.

I'm also not quite sure how healthy it is for the kid to see a chick giving me a handjob on the dancefloor either!

What's the big deal? We can take our kid out into loads of pubs over here... just not after a certain time at night (8pm I think). It's nice to get out of the house and chill.

Family-friendly drinking establishments are big money in the UK, because they sell a lot of food, which is where the profit is. If people don't like it, there are plenty of no-kids-allowed pubs & bars you can go to.

Yep, same over here. there's often a bistro as well, so families come for lunch and stay for a few beers with the other parents. bars are no smoking and there's often a nice outdoor section and strippers.
