I'm fairly new to affiliate marketing so don't be super hard on me.

My ultimate goal is to supplement my current income by investing a portion of my savings. To break it down even simpler, I'd like to invest about $700/month and ideally hope to earn roughly $1400-$2000 per month.

Should I try to keep it to one campaign ? Is this ROI completely unrealistic for a newbie ? If I get lucky and create a successful campaign with similar ROI can I expect it to perform for years ? How long do usually campaigns last ? Thanks for your help.

Here's some inspiration.

I executed on ppc during olympic break (fucking sad considering how ive been here for over a year), invested $300, made $1K profit by the next week. Didn't get my first conversion until my 3rd campaign, felt like giving up.

So firstly, no it is not. And second, only way to find out is to TRY. Now I don't want to see you back in here until you got your first conversion or at least spent 8x payout and can't understand what's wrong.

I still remember my first conversion, 10$ spent to get 3.75 on an insurance lead. Pretty awesome moment. 3 months later and TONS of wasted money I am seeing my efforts paying off and finally starting to see how everything fits together. Some people it takes longer, some people pick it up in a couple weeks. Good luck, either way, the fastest way to learn anything is to just throw yourself in there and learn from your mistakes.

If you put the work into it, you can hit your goal. It's definitely not unattainable to turn $700 into $1400. If you had said "hurr $700 into $70,000,000" is when it would be a .0000001% chance.

Your numbers are good goals to start with, and you can definitely push yourself further once you see the results

It's also depending on the effort you put into it. In my case my progress is slow because I'm also a full time student. I'm sure everyone else here will agree with me one this, spend enough time reading about am but not too much. You can only learn so much from reading newbie guides and blogs. At some point just start doing. If you're looking for a good guide read nickycakes' newbie guide.

Your goal is reachable, but you're going to lose that $700 fast.

Yes, one project at a time. That will be difficult enough to run.

You keep mentioning "campaign". Are you planning on using Adwords to get
traffic to your site which has the offer? That's a rough game.

I suggest that you take advantage of all the free avenues for traffic while
you are learning the ropes.

Something a lot of people won't tell you is what it cost them to earn like, $2000.

From people I know in the biz and from my own experience earning $2000 probably cost them $1500~.

Unless they and myself are doing something wrong.

I've gotten lucky and found a few niches that returned as well as I gave. $2 for every $1 I would spend.

It would be great if you could learn to take advantage of the free or rather cheaper forms of traffic. But these take longer to implement and see results for (generally speaking). PPC is faster but cost money upfront.

The most frustrating thing is just watching your monies disappear into the ether. I just finished one campaign and didn't make a dime. Onto the next one and so far watching same thing happen.

It's so tempting to just bag it and say I suck at this. Am I learning? Well learning it's easy to lose money and there are so many variables to tweak and you don't know which one is going to make it click. You go from ad->LP->offer and it could fail at any of those steps for any reason.

Right now, I'm stuck at getting em to convert on the offers themselves. So, guess that means I gotta presell it somehow some more. So, guess there's something to learn there - time to blow some more money figuring out how to tweak it :D.

You should probably save your money for now and replace it with hard work. It can be tempting to try PPC but if you don't know what you are doing you will most likely waste your money.

Investing $700 to get $1400 is very possible if you work hard and test for 2-3 months. GL..
