I bust my ass every day and get little to no results. Bids of 60 cents and pay outs of 4$ are bullshit when the market is so saturated.

Anyone have luck with dating?

personally i never got into dating. The margins were too low and unpredictable. But yes there is a lot of money to be made with dating. Its one of the older niches and the fact that its still around and one of the top niches should prove that their is money to be made. Maybe not as much as their use to be but i know some people who still work exclusively with dating.

Yes it is. You can easily be hired as a gigolo but you're going to need someething to offer. Either a big dick, be really well built, have nice hair. Or maybe you're really handsome and work well as a wedding date. Any of these will work out ok if you can find the right women who need your services.

Of course if you're female it all becomes easier also.

Dating continues to be one of my largest niches, and has been for a few years. However, that does not look like "Buy ads, direct link". I have negotiated direct deals, have a back end email monetization strategy, etc.

The question should not be "is there money in dating" but "is there money in my traffic for the offers I have access to and the way I promote".

based on your original post, looks like you have your answer. Now, what are you going to do about it?

what you can change:
traffic - social, seo, email, ppv (different countries, etc)
offers - direct deals, aff offers, etc.
promote - direct linking, your own ping tree, etc.

The only constant in this business is going to be change, ESPECIALLY when you are selling leads to someone - we are just fill in for when their direct budgets are not doing the deal.

Take an inventory of your strengths - what is it that you have working for you. Keep those factors constant, and rotate the rest.

One question about dating offers:
Many pay commission on purchases where typically a new member signs up for free, gets to play around with a limited feature set for a while and (hopefully) eventually buys a full membership. There can be a significant time gap between free sign-up and full conversion (purchase).

How do you guys deal with that in terms of analytics and tracking? Do you buy traffic more or less blindly, hoping it will convert later? Ramp up slowly until you have some average numbers to rely on? Other ideas?

The advertiser should give you at least 2 weeks to evaluate the quality of your traffic to determine the free : paid ratio and your network should keep you posted about this.

I do get the free:paid ratio. There's still uncertainty during those first 2 weeks every time you try a new offer or traffic source. And 2 weeks is a long time to run paid traffic w/o feedback.

Besides, I had some people converting more than a month after sign-up.

Stick within the caps provided by your network to be safe and run by the terms noted to you. It really depends on your network and their relationship w/ the advertiser. I give my affiliates pay bumps according to their quality of traffic. All dating advertisers monetize differently. For example True.com takes ages 18+ but they make their money back by blasting out offers to their data. Some sell it. It's all about relationships and communication.

The number of CPM dating ad placements you see on sites like facebook should give an indication that the dating vertical is still kicking ass. One campaign that is very prominent on FB is Zoosk. Dating offers that cater to specific niches, like Cougar Dating, is also doing well.

here's the thing with dating, get in contact with those guys in china who run gold farms for WoW and have them fill out your offers... you'll bank hard and quick! that's the only way dating works... other than that, it's dead son!

No problem, open an account at any CPV network, direct-link 20 dating offers. If that doesn't work, keep testing. Be sure to bid to 1st position always. Oh sure, popping the same advert to the same audience, doing exactly what thousands of other newbie PPV advertisers are doing, that's a great business plan!

Seriously? That's how everyone's balling it, killing it, stacking their monies as high as skyscrapers. Or maybe not. Keep testing.

Haven't made money per se but have lived with a girl for 3 months having her pay all my expenses.
