Ok so I'm trying to rank for Keyword, "website hotties".

domain "websitehotties.com" is taken, but .net is still available

domain "websiteshotties.com" is available (there is an S thrown in this domain if you missed it.

What would be the better choice?

the .net almost definitely
unless you intend to make it some big well known brand later on where you may want to rely on the branding of .com
If you only care about the search results take the exact

you may still want to grab that .com for posterity though and even the .org of the one you take to help prevent easy competition

ok .org is taken, i'll probably snatch up the .net, then maybe the .com i mentioned..

but what about this... i thought about it 2 seconds ago, if i just bought "sitehotties" instead of "websitehotties" would that kill it?

If you are going to build a site, best to do it at the .com. But I agree you should buy the .net of your preferred name, since it is cheap.

If you use a .net or .org as your primary name and you ever get significant traffic, you are going to be sending a lot of visitors to whoever owns the .com.

Also, if the .com of your preferred name is registered and not in use, reserve it at NameJet and SnapNames just in case it expires (assuming you are willing to pay $60 for the name).
