Ok so I think we had this once. We need to get a sticky of all the books everyone should have.

Ca$hvertising - Smaxor has single handedly made this the go to book. I swear he tell everyone to get. I have yet to read this one but judging from the posts in the sticky thread it is golden

The Hidden Persuaders - This is one of my favorites. It is extremely old yes still relevant. It goes in on many issue and gets you brain going in the right directions. Things in it will piss you off as a person and make you happy as a marketer

The Power of Persuasion - This is a good book to learn how people think. What you need to do. How people are pushed to do certain things. It gives good examples.


There are plenty more please feel free to add. I would like to mention no Joe Vitale or whatever he sucks DICK.

I'll go a little left field away from technical guides and recommend some books that are my "essentials" that I contribute some of my success too:

The 80/20 Prinicpal - Richard Koch: Try applying some of these 80/20 rules to your affiliate business, sounds like something you should already be doing but its amazing what results you'll get if you go over your business and purposely assess from an 80/20 perspective, identify your cash cows, focus and refine.

The Richest Man In Babylon - George S. Clason: This book is as old as the hills but for me addressed money management issues i struggled with as a guy in his early 20's banking hard and blowing cash.

4 Hour Work Week - Timothy Ferriss : I first thought this book was a complete toss. I read it and adopted some of the principals such as virtual assistants etc and became a believer, shortly afterwards I found myself traveling 23 countries last year with my mrs. - affiliate marketing on the road. Banking hard and living a dream & about to set off again next month.

One final general lot of books that gave me a crazy edge with online marketing was some six sigma methodologies, particularly outlier management, cause analysis etc. Have a quick look at some of these and see if you can get your head around it, if you can take the broader concepts and try using them when testing etc, worked for me maybe not others - just an opinion to check it out.

Predictably Irrational - Dan Ariely - interesting look at understanding human behavior, not overly technical but has some unique social experiments and is well written.

How to Get Rich - Felix Denis (founded Maxim magazine among others) - entertaining book with smart, practical business advice. There is a video interview of him floating around that's pretty good too.

I just finished reading that book a few weeks ago and +1 to reading that one. There's also an online task management service that follows his system pretty closely and brings it online.

I'm in the middle of reading Think and Grow Rich right now - I have the 21st century version though I'll go pick up the original.

Purple Cow is another great book by Seth Godin.
 
atlas shrugged is pretty good if u wanna get motivated to make monies. pretty long read tho but def worth it

Totally agree get the original version. Ive heard the newer revised ones are full of BS. Just bought the original hardcover with shiny gold pages a couple months ago :xmas-smiley-016:

Is the content really that different? I thought the new one just had those excerpts from recent entrepreneurs. Did they edit the original section of the book?

Not really sure, I just remember reading some pissy comments on amazon about the newer versions
 
great books, I also suggest " I will teach you to be rich" by ramit sethi

teaches you how to automate your finances and bills (mostly) with some investing advice
