What's your favorite Project Management Software?

Then I strongly advice to use FusionDeskPro.
You can organize projects with a tabbed user interface, every main project a tab, and inside the project you can create folders and subfolders and ad tasks to these. Every task can be set up with Priority, Status, Start/End time, estimate costs (based on elapsed time and hourly costs), people to be assigned to.....

You can even create an invoice for your customers.

Thanks, I'll check it out!

pen and paper works good for me and if i wana go high tech, a few folders on the desptop with a ton of Notepad files in each one.. :rasta:

My main issue is to have an update, onepage overview of all that's going on. Not over cluttered but just right.

FusionDesk is windows only. I Installed Omni Plan. Not bad, but the reporting is kinda limited. Found merlin, but the trial doesn't allow printing, so I don't know how the reporting would be. For that they also have iphone app and web server.

We currently use redmine for the team, they just got a new upgrade with sub-tasks. Maybe I can find a way to make that work.

I've been hearing good things about Assembla: Accelerate your team with online workspaces | Home | Assembla and plan on trying it out in a week or so.

The main difference between the free and paid version is that the paid version, you have more control over who sees what.

Hey I actually know the guy who started that, and I can say it rocks. The cool thing they have which the other tools people have mentioned it the about to keep track of different versions of code. If anyone is familiar with SVN/GIT repositories you know how valuable this is. Basically if you are working on any software product or script as a team, this is a must.

Redmind also helps track SVN comits. You can actually link "issues" to specific SVN commits.

We develop software, but I manage people across 3 departments: coding, design and sales. So this tool would be mostly for my own organizing. The stakeholders won't update their statuses like if it was just one big group of developpers. I'll try to see how it goes with Omni Plan this week

Hallelujah *angels singing, dancing, busting some moves and shooting up the place with arrows*

I FOUND IT.

It turns out, what i needed was a task management software, not a project management.
Having the taken plotted on a schedule and micromanaging ressources is overkill for me. However I needed discrit tasks ( done or not, no need for % and start, end date ) that can be organised in different groups, projects, tags.

The solution; THINGS

Things - task management on the Mac

It works on a mac only, but it's amazing.
