Before I go forth with this post, I want to note that Stanley gave me permission to start this thread. But I used the shameless plug icon just in case
As many of you may know from our booth at ASW, I have spent the past 2.5 years developing a platform aimed at being a one stop shop for affiliate marketers. Basically, I architected this as what I considered being my "dream platform" as a marketer (tracker for PPC/PPV/media, full campaign editor for major platforms, network management, etc.) all interconnected via a central API, syncing exact stats and management capabilities onto a single platform. And before anyone asks, yes self hosted/open source platforms are available.
The whole point of this project is to provide an extremely high quality, dependable management platform for affiliate marketers (something that doesn’t really exist out there for affiliates at the moment), and most of all, free of charge to the user base. I am adamant in my belief that this is the best way to run an online company. Our revenue sources range from 1. Premium Memberships (unlimited API usage, access to premium tools, and for those who want the luxury of a dedicated technical contact), 2. Network fees/referrals, 3. Our Marketplace, and 4. Consulting.
Since the time I began developing this in 2008, there has been ~5 people/companies who have tried to pull off a similar platform that have failed largely in part of the complexity and resources required to deal with scalability involving high traffic and hundreds of cumbersome API's. Well, a few years and about $400,000 of my own money later, our platform is completed and now I’m asking all of you for feedback before I start spending our very sizable marketing budget.
First: What is your opinion of the perfect interface as an affiliate marketer? With the lack of development directly related to this industry, what do you want to see that is not already on our interface? Now is the opportunity to have that beneficial feature that you always wanted to make your life 100x easier. We have the resources to do this, and as mentioned above, the most important thing to us is to create a platform that is extremely high quality and useful.
Secondly: An unbelievable amount of thought and testing has gone into every aspect of the interface, however, the power of many people testing significantly accelerates the bug finding. I will accept any Wickedfire member who wants to test out the system and provide some quality feedback. Bugs, suggestions, anything. Just go to the site (URL in my sig) and create an account, and Ill activate it.
Finally, keep in mind the fact that we have to actually make money to support the infrastructure of this project, so make sure you feedback/suggestions make monetary sense (for instance, we simply cant give everyone unlimited API calls as in some cases, they cost us a fee to retrieve from the service providers). Also - because it's simply impossible to do a bunch of extremely specific additions, we have to go for the majority desires. Our number 1 priority is making sure our current platform is bug free and then we are focusing on adding features.
I am absolutely determined to make this the most beneficial platform on the internet, and coding it to the highest of quality.
