Any of you have friends or family in prison? If so, what prison?

Do you write them and send them money? At the very least you should try to write them and if you can afford to it's always nice shoot them a few bucks now and then.

I use JPAY, they automatically deduct money each month form my bank account so I don't forget to do it manually and sends money to both my friends in prison.
 


I don't know anyone in prison. I also tend to associate with people who aren't criminals.

Of course there are always exceptions. What are your friends convicted of?
 
yeah. godmother's husband...paid for all my school, helped my parents buy our house, etc..real nice guy. currently serving 8-25 for a high profile white collar crime. i think he's out soon..
 
A guy I used to be very good friends of was in prison. I didn't find out about it until later. I wouldn't give him a pot to piss in. After he got out and came back to town his god mother and lifelong family friend tried to help him out by hiring him to re-roof her house. Of course he needed money in advance to pay for stuff. Shortly after he started he shafted her and never returned.

I hope your friends are better than him. I realize each person/case is different, but, I don't have sympathy for most of the people in jail.

Drug dealers

I got this in the mail today, I was looking at it and decided to make the thread.

For whatever reason they refused my mail and I just got it back today in the mail. I like how they accept it multiple times then all the sudden they decide they're not going to accept it. They should have just taken the shit out of the envelope rather than send the whole package back.

My younger brother did 2 stints totaling 2 years. I didn't write, but I would send cash every now and then, if I remember correctly, I sent checks to the jail, but memo'd to his account.

I would try to visit every 2 weeks at minimum.

He has been a good little law abiding citizen since. He was going through a fucked up time. First jail was 6 months, got out... within a month, his girlfriend was pregnant, he was diagnosed with cancer... and then he went nuts.... sent back for 1.5 years after that. (while doing Chemotherapy as an inmate.)

I know a dude who served about 15-ish years in some California state prison. I swear to god this guy has the baddest cigarette-rolling skills ever. He always says you gotta be quick haha
 
No, I mostly just know retarded tools that try to be badass by wearing hats and quoting 2pac. Don't have the balls to commit an actual crime.
 
i got a friend who i surf with in honolulu who is going to prison for terroristic threatening, assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping...i didnt find out about it until after i met him. he's going away next month with a 10 year sentence. gonna miss him. he can be a good guy but he definitely has a few screws loose.
 
The mom of a really good friend of mine lost $8 million in stock (and was fined over $1 million on top of that) and is currently on parole for backdating stocks while she was the CFO of a company.
 
Still amazed my brother never got into jail.

My wife's brother is in jail - as a guard.
Even he is amazed to find himself on that side of the bars.

I have one friend in prison. He's a great guy who made some bad mistakes.

I write him quite often actually and me and my friends plan on getting some money together to send to him for Christmas, using JPay also.

I put up a website for him a couple of years ago so he could send me artwork which I upload so that friends and family can see it.

He's also got a few rap songs on there that he wrote. The quality of the songs suck, but he's still got a good flow.
