So it looks like SM is the thing to do right now. I'm constantly getting all these aff links about how to get into it and basically make money by promoting other businesses' brands online. I hear companies are paying big monies to have someone manage their social media accounts.

So far I haven't actually met anyone who was really being successful into it. This whole thing seems a little overhyped and too good to be true (last article I read talks about pulling 10k a month from 10 hours of Twitting/Facebookin lol). Ok ill bite- my sister in laws company manages Fb and Twit accts for major corporations...they get paid big $$$ for posting content and managing interaction. Its a full time job for big companies, and often they prefer to outsource. Im sure its branding more than anything else, but what the heck- they have a budget for it-

the moment you see "Ebooks" and "courses" being created for a new "money making way". you should know that its no more profitable. The guru who prepare these books have most likely sucked it all out by then and nothing left so they make an ebook and now make easy money selling you the same crap which isnt lucrative anymore.

do you expect me to sell you my traffic method which makes me $10K a day for only $10? and on top of that invite more competitors?

I do agree that any new ONLINE method out there being shared is dried up, there is a lot of opportunity and demand right now offline for local SEO (especially where I live).
 
"social media marketing" is a buzz term thrown around by gurus and brands that have no clue what they are talking about.
