We have a huge number of impressions going unsold in canada and UK for men... You could get a lot of impressions by bidding 20 cents with a frequency cap of 5. Of course most of the good inventory is being sold at around 50 cents...

I was bidding 0.20$ today and my conversions was BAD.
So, i'll have to bid over 0.50$?
 
Depends on a lot of things, there are people bidding $2.00 in the system and converting great. Bid price has little relation to conversion rates, conversion rates are all in the ad and the landing page. If you use our conversion tracking you will see there is a dramatic difference in conversion rates for say smokers verse non smokers and different images and ad text make a huge difference..

Does POF charge you American advertisers any tax at all?

What I wrote above is wrong. Just talked to my accountant and learned that although I have to pay 13% tax to POF, the way it works I'm going to get it all back @ the end of the year. It doesn't suck to be Canadian after all.
 
Any plans to employ any targetting within the site, say if we can see that inbox.aspx traffic is converting shit, but history.aspx is average and basicsearch.aspx are ripping it up that we can move to our focus accordingly? Also, will you ever allow us to choose a rate below 3/24?

Seeking a little advice to get started with POF...

I want to test 3 different campaigns on pof on a $50 a day budget--yeah I know its low but will increase in the future. Can POF equally distribute my 3 campaigns from my daily budget? Would each campaign see the same amount of impressions? Hopefully someone can help me out a little. Cheers

yeah.

if you meant, 1 campaign x 3 ads = yeah.

or if you are trying to do 3 campaigns.

then you can divide that $50 into 3. and set your daily budget for your 3 camps.
 
Section targetting to much of a pain in the ass. If we allow it than we don't get enough ads to serve on all pages and everyones impressions go down dramatically.
 
Hey Markus & Ben, I notice that POF is advertising on Facebook now, AND I notice that you're somehow able to get far more racy ads approved by Facebook that any affiliate marketer can get on there. I don't know how you're doing it, but good job!

(not that your ads are actually "racy" by a regular person's standards, but by FB's wacky standards they are)
 
Does POF offer any promo codes for first time advertisers?? I know adwords has dozens and a few other ppc platforms.

Nop! Coupons are just a Easy way to get you in their platforms and it works ALL THE TIME. Thats Real Advertising (Coupons). Test with the amount of money you want/got, Track and see if it'll work for you.
 
Not sure why I am receiving an invalid message when I try to add funds to my account?!?! Are mastercards not allowed?
