Alright so I put up a mailing script on one of my shared hosting accounts, and they suspended me and told me that I was mailing out to much spam and that I had to remove the mailing script in order to get my account back.

So thats what I did but now I'm looking for a host that doesn't care/ turns a blind eye to my emails that I send out... I sent out over 60K every day, and yes these emails did opt in so they are compliant.

So pretty much Im just looking for a cheap alternative to the current host that I have just so I can run this mailing script. I have aweber but I dont want to load all my 60k on to that as I keep aweber for my more targeted lists.

Any host suggestions/vps? I'm not experienced in setting up any servers or know a lot about a vps? A vps still has cpanel and I can drop files via FTP right?? If you want to drop your affiliate link for a host feel free and I will definitely use it if its something that works!

Thanks again!

You are going to have a hard time keeping a shared or VPS being a mailer. You really need to get dedicated server(s) in a data center that is going to be understanding of OPT IN mailing.

Otherwise, you are going to keep setting things up to just get shut down again. The mailer game can be a tricky business, and you need a host that is in the loop per se.

What if I just run in on my own desktop? I'm really novice at these kind of things, but are there any mailing softwares for your desktop?? I have a pretty good internet connection...

You risk getting nuked on the local level (your home ISP) then.

Frankly, I would honestly recommend you ask around and do some more research over in the mailer forum. Maybe hit up a couple of good long term mailers, maybe even call them on the phone and get the info. Then make an educated decision.

With the volume you are pushing, you really need to get into a long term solution that is going to handle the volume, and a DC that is 'understanding' of opt in mailing.

Thanks so much! I'll see what I can get out of in the mailing forum.

By the way, I have SBC Global PRO for my internet connection. Do you have any advice on a safe amount of mailings I can do without them doing anything about it?

I'm sure something like 10k spread out across one whole day of email sent out wouldn't bother them right? I was fine with doing something like this even on a shared host, but then when I kept on pushing it higher and higher they shut it down. I'm just looking at some ways I can still send at least a few emails out until i figure out a solution...

I just got a mailing software installed and its asking for a SMTP, so what if I just use one from Gmail or Yahoo, doesn't that run on their servers and not on my internet ISP?

ex: mail.hotpop.com - i found this one to be used quite often through a quick google search...

Sorry but I have no idea really on how this side of things work!!

I would not do it from home! Regardless of the type of connection.

I would seriously recommend you ask around, find an experienced mailer, and call him on the phone and get some solid recommendations and advice! Talk to the guys who are doing it, and been doing it, for some time. They can give you the loop holes and knowledge you need.

I do really appreciate reply/answers here.. and do learn. I was thinking the same thing.. setting up a mailer.. thanks I came across this thread.. with such full of info. Just great!
