NEW Facebook Ads

Oh, in case anyone is wondering what happened. After trying literally for like 2 hours, a buncha shit. I'm like, maybe, I go on my 2002 Dell with like Internet explorer 1.0 and maybe it'll work there.

Worked a like a charm indeed. So, with all that said, Facebook you are at the cutting edge of technology, you are industry leaders. I salute you.

dude it is so screwed up and its happening to everyone. lost a ton of money today. it was all campaigns in all countries. my ads are all paused because of this. definitely send them a request for money back, i'm sending in my server logs too.

Ok, I feel like a retard asking this. But is there an easy way to tell what countries the clicks are coming from?

I am using prosper and can see visitor IPs and there's the RIPE link. So I can click the link for each individual IP I want to check. Is there any easier way to see them all at once?

Also, I had a similar fuck up yesterday with traffic. A campaign thats been sitting on under 20 leads a day for 2 months spiked to over 200. It was the last day of the month, campaign budget was spent, the client is pissed and I am not getting paid.

Now, I don't give a fuck about the $100 of traffic I lost here. But I'd like to explain to the network that I didn't touch the campaign after I was told it was its last day. The campaign was in Spain and was struggling to get impressions. I am wondering if it suddenly went EU wide or something.

Looking at IPs I am seeing regular Spanish IPs ("country: ES"), but also a lot of this:

country: EU # Country is really world wide

Wtf? Worldwide?? If RIPE cant tell where the IP is from, how can Facebook?

btw, Facebook launched Facebook Places yesterday.

What are the chances they were updating the location tracking code/databases as part of this and fucked something up.

ie, they can now tell what cafe you're checking into Places from. But not what country you're in.

I got international clicks for over $2000 yesterday and this morning. Mostly from Asia and Africa it seems. All worthless.

Happened to me as well

Over 3K USD damage of lost traffic. The campaigns that were targeted to Spain were the ones with the most damage. Most of the traffic went to South America countries.. I hope that Facebook will look into the lost traffic and compensate retroactively on the loss, if that is even possible. Can anyone confirm if the issue is solved now?

Doesn't look like its solved. Still huge amount of international traffic for any US campaigns. I would suggest that everyone here with the issue shoots them an email.

Just integrating Facebook into my affiliate marketing approach...I've had some folks tell me I should begin at page one of this thread...Would techniques/approaches/theory etc from the first bunch of pages still be relevant? Is there a more efficient way to make my way through all this info?

Suggestions are super appreciated!

I also received a lot of fucked up traffic yesterday, over $1500 worth of clicks not accounted for in my affiliate stats.

My France, Spain, and UK campaigns got raped.

Don't start from page 1. Facebook has hit puberty already and menopause. Start from last till like 5-10 pages in

Got this mail about the traffic fuck up:

The accuracy of our geo-location mapping service recently suffered a one-time degradation for a period of time primarily on August 31st. As a result, we will not be charging accounts for any delivery that may have been adversely affected by this incident. Note that a few accounts may have been already gotten charged for some delivery that was affected and in these cases we will be issuing ad credits instead.

I didn't email facebook about the issue above, but my daily spend for yesterday now says $0.00 and my ads ran all day as usual.

My ad spend for yesterday came back now. I am not sure if the number changed from what it ended at last night or not.

Yesterday is missing if I run a report. It skips from 8/31/2010 to 9/2/2010.

Check your funding sources. I and a few other people i've asked have been credited but haven't received a message of any kind.
