The time has come that I need to get an offshore personal bank account. I know its not as easy as it used to be, to be able to just walk in and say "hi - I need an account" so thats why I am here.. What I am hoping for from this post is replies or PM's from guys who have already done this and are set up.. Basically, I am looking to find out which country is easiest to setup in and get a visa I can withdraw money with anywhere in the world. Right now, I am looking into Panama, Belize and the Bahamas..

Hopefully someone who has recently setup an account can help me out.. I am looking to fly out of here soon to get this done, so any help is greatly appreciated.

There's a site with a lot of people selling offshore accounts with cards in a few of the forum categories. I haven't used anyone on there myself (not banking enough yet :( ), but from what I can see they look decent.

Not sure if I can say the name of the forum on here, but it has a t and a g, and rhymes with WalkMold ;) :p

You crazy? I wouldn't trust $XX,XXX a month to some random guy on a forum....

i think the best is to visit yourself. If your making enough bank to actually NEED an offshore account, you should have enough bank roll to spend a couple weeks in each country to determine if its right for you or not.

Protip: Don't have citizenship in the same country you have your bank account/biz registration. So with that, find a strong financial center like Panama for your bank and biz, and citizenship possibly in DomRep or Grenada

Thanks for the advice.. unfortunately, I learned the hard way and haven't saved much. I blew a decent chunk of my savings on a nasty media buy.. so I don't have the bankroll to hop from place to place... which is really why I am trying to find someone who has gone through this.

DomRep :D that's where I'm from :D :D

wait, so let me put 1+1 together: You want an offshore bank account but have no money at all?

Do you really think i'd be trying to open an offshore account if I had no money or a good amount of money coming in every month? Come on.. I just don't have $10k to blow on running around the world trying to setup a bank account.

Look up panama bearer share corporations (these are anon) with attached bank accounts

If you don't want to go there and get it done yourself I think you can have it done for you by local attorneys for a few grand

Don't trust anybody from any forum.

Go to your nearest HSBC branch and inquire about an offshore account.

Register a company at any of the tax-free (BVI's) havens, and register the account under that.

No government will ask you where you get your money from. Buy everything cash.

then you don't need to be offshore, as you likely can't afford the very real costs of doing things correctly.

I've seen some (IMO) wild things on here about offshoring, and frankly since I suspect many of the parties who've posted them are either a) lying, b) joking, or c) THINK they're playing by the rules and if tested would hold water but of course haven't been tested so their logic is similar to someone totally cheating on their taxes who just hasn't been audited (yet).

I will say that I have long heard that commonly accepted general consensus is that to do things correctly (I'm very low/no-risk however, and playing w/ the IRS is something I refuse to do at any dollar amount) is gross margin somewhere in the $5-10M+ range.

And no offense but if you made $7M last year on berrieZ you can afford $10k (or rather simply burn some amex miles) to figure it out.

I only jump in because this delves into very real consequence territory, and I encourage you to at least understand those consequences and not take them lightly. If you do and if you're in that realm and just having cash flow issues best of luck to you- sincerely.

So you make 5 digits a month and want an offshore ? Probably it's not an option yet if you can't afford it. Lot of companies provide these, contact them or yes....arrive to the country.... why not spend even $10k traveling if it worth it, no ?

This thread is retarded. Why do you think you need an offshore account?

What is an offshore account going to give you that a bank in your home country can't?

If you were serious, you wouldn't be asking this question to a goddamn internet forum, especially wickedfire.

I don't understand where you guys are coming up with all this "can't afford it" shit. If you think you need to be a millionaire to open an offshore account then you are highly mistaken. I used to live in Costa Rica and Panama. I know you can get shit setup there and it isn't too expensive but Costa Rica has changed quite a bit and Panama I wouldn't even know where to start anymore. I realize getting accounts in Countries without having residency there has gotten a little harder (from what I've heard).

I was hoping someone could pm me and say hey, fly here, talk to these guys and you're set.. I have no issue flying somewhere - but I don't want to hit up 3 countries to setup 1 bank account.

My intention isn't to start a debate.. im just looking for some info from someone who's actually gone through this recently and doesn't mind pointing me in the right direction... that's it.

Again.. the only intention of this thread was only to get responses from guys who have actually gone through this. I know there are a lot of them here on WF so that's why I brought it up. I am not looking for fucking replies from guys banking with some lame US bank. SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK?

haha right, some lame US bank is surely not capable of handling your millions upon millions of dollars.

if you had enough money to need an offshore account you would know how to get one.

You still haven't told us WHY you think you need an offshore account. Answer that question or I'm calling you're full of shit.

Why you would think that US bank is less reliable than offshore ?:) Taxes is other question, but it's a complex scheme to avoid them at all I think )

Actually the OP is just the type of person who can easily benefit from some "cheap" offshoring.

It doesn't sound like he makes tons of money, so for the sake of an example let's say he makes 100k a year. He could open an offshore account and get a visa/debit card like he suggested, and then use it for every day expenses and withdrawals, never pay any taxes on it (if he chose not to) and the IRS would never know about the $$$.

But that's about all you can do easily and inexpensively, and if you're making serious money the "get a debit card and use it for every day expenses" won't help you much.

So yeah this can work if you're making say $100k a year, but the real question is what to do when you're making 100k a month ... then shit gets real and it's not quite as easy (if you like to sleep at night).
