13 Assassins - One of my top 5 now

I thought this was going to be one of those Crouching Tiger kind of movies with people flipping 500 times in air and standing on leaves. This movie is so realistic and on point. The story line is supposedly based on a true story and it's fucking amazing. If you have been waiting for a good Asian war movie than this is it, fucking hardcore samurai shit, I find it better than the Last Samurai.

It's 2 hours long and definitely worth it, one of my favorite movies now!

Typically, the Japanese movies don't have the flying / flipping craziness you find in Chinese movies. Chinese movies, like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers are more of the fantasy type fighting. The Japanese tend to be more grounded.

I love both country's movies for pretty much the same reasons: they're action packed, usually rely on well thought out / played characters, and they love good overcoming evil.
