2 Questions about blogger and seo

Hi,

If I put a banner title in blogger then google can't read the image for seo purposes right? So how can someone still get advantage of the title in terms of seo while still having a banner?

Another question is about pinging. How often can I ping my blog without having to fear that google might consider it as spamming?

1. You put the name of the banner in the "alt" property so Google can read that.

Ex: img src="blahblah.com" alt="My blog"
