3D Stereoscopic Gaming

Anyone ever tried this out?

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's an nvidia product that allows you to play pc games in 3d.

for those of you who have it, how is it?
 


3D Stereoscopic is a type of 3d not a product... 3D gaming can be very cool if done right. Explosions flying out of the TV ect. If you have a 3d tv and a ps3 sony has really good demo's on their store.
 
I'm planning on getting into stereoscopic 3D gaming next year. When the new consoles come out, I am building a new PC and buying a 3D tv. Currently gaming on a 2D 52 inch LCD TV with a PC that can pretty much run anything current gen.

Stereoscopic 3d gaming is way better on the PC because any 3D game will work since Nvidia's drivers will output a stereo image automatically to your 3D tv, 3D monitor, or 3D projector.

Stereoscopic gaming on the PS3 is meh because the console is simply too underpowered and as a result only a few games support it. This isn't an issue on the PC side.

The 360 doesn't support 3D at all as far as I know.

I disagree. I played at a friend's house, and I find the experience to be very immersive. Also it literally does add depth to the visual aspect of the game. Maybe that does nothing for you, but it really enhances the feeling of immersion for me. Of course, that's not the only kind of depth that a game could have that would enhance my immersion.

Stereo 3D gaming is excellent with flight simulators too, especially when you add head tracking to the mix.
 
Yes. I have the nvidia 3D glasses thing. I bought it when they first came out a couple years ago.

It never really caught on. Probably because back then there wasn't a lot of games where it worked as intended, BUT on the games that did work. It was pretty freaking awesome...

For me the best games were RTS games (age of empires for example). The best way to describe it is your computer screen becomes a window that you can look through and see all the stuff move around as if you were looking down at it from 5 stories up. It's really cool.

Sadly for most games it didn't work very well and you end up wanting to test as many games as possible than actually play them.
 
I have a 3d TV and some games that support 3D. It's really cool for open world games, it adds depth to the game. I don't know if it's cause my eyes are fuarked (i have exophoria) but after a while I have to kinda refocus my eyes to get the depth back in.

Panasonic 8000u + PS3 with 3D games = Gaming Bliss

Motorstorm Apocolypse is worth the fucking price of admission on a 100" projection screen. Jesus. Wipeout 3D, Killzone 3D, Super Stardust, Crysis 3, MLB The Show, etc..

Nividia didn't invent this at all.. PS3 has been pushing some quality 3D games for a while.

Wish I had more than 2 hours a week to geek out on the shit..
 
I would love something like the Oculus rift for working.

Basically, high enough resolution that I can simulate sitting in front of 3+ monitors while I am really just at my notebook.
