every once in a while when looking for keywords on 7search I find a long akward phrase with tens of thousands of searches

here's an example, I queried 7search for the word ipod
one of the results was "myspace text message razor free ipod mp3" with 4,207 searches
there's absolutely no way more people search for "myspace text message razor free ipod mp3" than they search for "ipod mini" or "video ipod"...

I've seen this tens of times, so this brings up a good question
how accurate is the search volume reported by 7search?

I find string searches like that using Overtures and WordTrackers word tools every now and then.

Id like to know the same, just how accurate are these tools?

When you see a keyword like that, immediately disregard it. I imagine that they are "searched" for by spiders querying 7search.

So when people talk about long tail keywords, what exactally are they talking about? "Rap Music By Jz"?????

Sorry not trying to hi-jack your thread Stan

Let's say you want to do an insurance site. Well, "insurance" is an expensive keyword. You can use the "long tail" by narrowing the insurance niche. What about "car insurance"? Ok, still expensive. What about "texas car insurance"? Using the long tail technique basically means to narrow-down your niches.

I have been mainly focussing on shorter keywords "bikes, fast bikes, trek bikes, riding a bike"..... but am going to have to start putting more focus on longer keyword phrases.

7search pops out some insanely inaccurate search volumes sometimes yeah.

easier said that done
not all queries are easily identifiable as false

regardless, why would these spiders want to query 7search 40,000 times a month for a strange phrase like that?

If you run in to a query that is many words long, disregard it. I'm not sure why spiders would do that. Weed out competition, check results of that specific query, etc.
