All right, here's my first attempt at a helpful post. Mostly intended for the very newbie of newbies who are pretty much focused on just making any money at all to start out.

So I just started with AM a couple months ago. I've read a lot of stuff here and started several projects, and just recently I've gotten one website to do well. It's one of my first and definitely most primitive website that I did stupidly simply because I didn't really know how to do much.

I downloaded a crappy free website design program, made a copy-paste MS Paint banner, joined a physical goods merchant's aff program, wrote a paragraph about product X, linked to where they could find product X with my aff link, and published the site.

I pretty much ignored the site after that because I'm one to be stupid and try to take on too many things. So a while ago I was checking my affiliate stats with the merchant, only about 5 visitors a day, but I'd made my first sale - a $17 commission and I hardly did anything.

So I figured I'd try to promote a little bit. Got a yahoo answers account. Lo and behold it turns out yahoo answers is filled with people regularly asking "What type of product x should I get?" That was pretty cool. So I jumped in and basically told them "Get this one" + a couple reasons why. And they fucking did it.

Now none of this is new information. I guess my point is that obviously while being good at AM and making a lot is not gonna be easy, starting out making at least some money is not hard. Look at it like a school project - while quality is good, actually turning it in is the important part, so just have something. And if you can make some money, then you can start to make some more, and some more... So don't let lack of talent stop you from taking action.

Exactly. It's all about keeping it simple at the start. Testing, testing and testing with a simple approach. Once you've hit a winner, scale it, through additional SEM networks, and build a ton of backlinks to the website. Add additional content, and submit articles to directories and you've got a winner.

Keeping it simple will always be the most effective approach for a newbie, as it incorporates both learning the basics, and not getting distracted on "higher-ended ability" projects that can be a complete waste of time at the start. That's why it's such a solid approach to set up a product blog site when you begin, to learn the basics of the game, and not burn a hole in your pocket.

Good for you. Might I add that a collection of boob photos is also considered quite appropriate in such joyous occasions as the announcement of a first sale to forum members.

I'm more of an ass man...

Great point. Prove to yourself you can make $1, then it's only a 0 to get to $10 and if you can make that, why can't you add another 0 for $100

The point was that if you actually try and maybe do some promotion, like he mentioned he's about to try, you can do better. $17 for letting a site sit there is good in my book and with a little more work he could make some money.

Hi guys, I am new as well.

So you are saying for start I should create my own web page, get a domain then go to clickbank (or whatever it's called) get some products and upload on my webpage...?

What should I do next? How should I advertise it... How can I make sure that I'll get at least 5 views a day?

Thank you, in advance.
