If any of you are using a smaller web host, and your host announces that they have been bought out by a larger company, for fuckssake abandon ship.
I work for an outsourced web hosting support company (in the US), and just as an example, one of our clients was recently bought out. The new owner no longer answers billing requests. The phones just ring. Has has over 300 pending requests, some of which are months old. He fired all of the server admins and has us around doing the grunt work. His servers are slowly falling apart, the quality of service has degraded considerably, and he's still collecting money from his customers because he refuses to acknowledge their billing requests.
That's just one example. This has been happening a lot lately, usually by smaller American-owned companies panicking due to the shitty economy and selling out to eastern-European or Indian companies.
So yeah, if your host sells, pick up and leave.
