FINAL WORD
One final note to wheinrome and Korrupt:
Those who know me, or have had the pleasure of working with me are aware I take all business matters seriously and always conduct myself in a professional manner. For those visitors who are unfamiliar with me or Ad Angler I would like it to be known, this thread was used unwisely by me to vent my personal frustration which resulted in community anger and disapproval. More importantly, the way I acted on this thread was unprofessional and inappropriate and a distant stretch from my true character. Even though this is WickedFire and we do play our jokes and say stupid or hurtful comments to each other on a daily basis, there is no excuse for the posts I submitted.
I admit we did not handle both publishers accounts fairly or correctly, and this thread was a result of our negligence. For those who don't know me I attended a Catholic, college prep private high school, I received a scholarship for business school upon graduation of high school, I was Dean's list every year and I graduated from a tier 1 University. Advertising is in my blood, my existence sprouted from a father who is a true advertising success story. He has had the pleasure of working with many celebrities and has been presented countless awards for having storyboarded, created and filmed many television commercials. He was best known for the birth of countless Super Bowl commercials many being beer commercials. I grew up in Saint Louis, MO so you can guess which beer company. He was a leader and a dreamer in his field and I only wish to follow a similar path in my field, affiliate marketing.
I most certainly let my anger get the better of me and acted way out of line. To those that work with us or have worked with us and found this series of posts to be disappointing, I am truly sorry. They were just jokes and anyone who has partied with me at an Ad:Tech or AffiliateSummit knows when I have had to much to drink.
This however doesn't exclude how I treated two upstanding affiliates. They both did have valid points. I believe they were both treated unfairly by my company and for that I apologize and personally stepped up to help. I want to make it clear that both publishers did nothing wrong and are both legit upstanding affiliates. There was also no fraud taking place between either accounts.
wheinrome has brought to my attention that I am guilty of making the assumption that he was just another fraud pub. I jumped to a negative conclusion without full analysis and a complete authentication of evidence complied against him by my staff. This action led to an untruthful slandering of his good name and I do apologize.
I will however from this point on, listen to all future publishers faced with an unresolved Ad Angler complication to the fullest without predetermined bias or judgment. I promise to fact check with the advertiser no matter how inconvenient and no matter what my compliance tells me to be truth. Even HasOffers reliable and extensive fraud prevention reports can be misinterpreted by a user. Human error directly and undeniably connected to Ad Angler resulted in a false positive fraud report which deafened
wheinrome's attempt to communicate logical reasoning with his AM. The wrong decision was made halting any and all further investigations of unpaid advertiser commissions owed and
wheinrome was cast out unjustly and unfairly. I am equally to blame for the suffering
wheinrome endured, and I wish to make my apology and ownership of fault public.
The remarks I made about these two affiliates are entirely false and is a result of an unfactual hasty judgment and an inebriated thought process. Sure, I took care of their problems. However, posts I made on this thread poorly illustrated my companies ethical passion, affiliate appreciation and moral integrity by providing visitors a disturbing but false persona. My commitment to resolving serious matters in a professional manner with both
wheinrome and
Korrupt where only known and fully expressed privately over the phone. If you talk to both, you will learn unlike the posts made our private conversations reflected a brighter side of Ad Angler and my personality. I provided them both immediate assistance, I corrected all mistakes, took full responsibility for neglect and errors, diligently negotiated a resolution with our advertiser that resulted in a full release of commissions and ultimately to my understanding provided them both an über professional experience highlighting my dedication to a fair resolution.
Both parties, there's and ours undeniably held a degree of fault.
wheinrome and
Korrupt's being the lesser with a simple and unknowing TOS violation, an accidental credit card fraud issue which was not related in any way to the affiliate and his promotional method and finally a barrage of duplicate user agents attached to leads, which has been explained and debunked as a coding/programing error that triggered a false fraud alert. Acting solely on misinterpreted lead data and non-payment by our advertiser my staff and I poorly labeled these two affiliates and refused to listen to their reasoning.
I am certain now both affiliates provided us with valid leads and are assets to our company.
Ad Angler did cause much of the blame and was equally part of the problem. Both publishers where provided an unresponsive affiliate manager, only one was made aware of the issues facing their payment. After made aware and after he provided a valid and correct explanation to the issues by email, he was ignored by his AM completely. Both were not instructed of an alternative contact within Ad Angler. Hopefully, if anyone finds themselves in this situation please email Sandra, her info is within all Ad Angler affiliates application confirmation and approval emails.
Next, our company isn't open with everyone and does not have employee images, personal employee contacts, LinkedIn's, Facebook's and much more that bestows trust among affiliates. I personally made this decision many years ago after a tragic loss that claimed one of my first companies. In short full ownership was lost due to a trademark infringement legal battle with a publisher. That party now owns my company, domain and business plan in it's entirety and decided to run it into the ground after my name had been associated with it for years. I chose to hide my new company and myself to avoid ever facing an issue like this again. Protecting my name is very important to me and my actions have led to mistrust among these and many alike affiliates. I acted to shield myself and my company from a lawsuit, not affiliates. As you may know lawsuits can destroy a network overnight and drastic measures where taken to ensure the longevity of Ad Angler.
With the end of my company, came an end to a partnership. My old partner who I believed to be my friend, has made it apparent to me that he is upset with my decision to not include him in Ad Angler and is seeking revenge. If you see a post with my handle misspelled please avoid it. I ask everyone to please not comment on posts he has been making. His fake posts are hurting affiliates like these. Honest affiliates who need me to listen and take action on their behalf. All I ask is that you use common sense, carefully read who is making comments and don't add fuel to a fire that is make-believe. I am however not asking anyone to with-hold their voice and right to post, if there is a problem I want to know about it. I vow to always put Ad Angler affiliates needs before my own and I am willing to go to war for those who ask.
Anyone who doesn't know me can ask countless industry leaders for reference. convert2steve has worked with me, Mark Roth, Offervault owner has worked with me for years, Jon Fisher from WickedFire has hung out with me for less than a day many years ago, then avoided me completely. I don't blame him, I was drinking. lol. I do greatly appreciate his presence in this thread and thank him for taking time from his busy schedule to ban a member who was bashing my name. I respect the professionalism he shared to protect a name he hardly knew and for that he has my loyalty. I also thank Steve and Ruck for setting aside our past differences, and companies competition and coming forward with a simple post to defend my reputation. This was major, since it is rare that a past forgotten friendship outweighs the power of business, money and industry domination. To stand up for a competitors reputation and chose a friendship over money is a true test of character. I wish C2M all the best!
Unfortunately for some loyalty and friendship mean nothing, my old partner probably took Steve's post as a partnering up with enemies of his. I only wish he finds happiness in life and hopefully stop this childish behavior, nothing changed between us in my eyes, we just aren't working together now. ......Continued.....
