FYI for all those who care:
As of April 1, 2010, AOL generally will not accept advertising from
companies that utilize negative option pricing plans. In our sole
discretion, AOL is only offering a select few companies a white list
option.
If you would like to continue advertising with AOL, please remove any
negative option marketing from your site. You will also be required to
make the following changes to your LP and re-submit the site/creative to
us for verification.
* Disclose material terms of any offer in a concise,
understandable manner;
* Make all disclosures about the offer clear and conspicuous by:
* placing them where consumers are likely to look on Web pages,
* labeling disclosures (and links to them) to indicate their
importance and
relevance, and
* using easy-to-read fonts and colors;
* Disclose the offer's material terms before the consumer incurs
a financial obligation;
* Obtain consumers' affirmative consent to the transaction;
* Example: customer clicks "I Agree" rather than relying on
pre-checked boxes;
* Offer easy, effective, reliable cancellation.
