What Causes Cold Sores

i'm not done yet. i haven't optimized it for keywords and i still have some stuff i need to do, but what do you think so far? any advice?

it's pretty boring looking so i need some ideas to spice it up. also, how do i insert adsense right before a paragraph, making the content shift to the right, rather than just between two paragraphs?

i feel like i need more links on the left sidebar, the little adsense ad looks weird just floating there in the middle of nowhere.

also, if you go to just coldmouthsores.com it takes you to my index page, which i fucking accidentally deleted, oops.

Try to get some traffic to the site first. You can fix stuff along the way. Focus on content and links for now.

that's exactly what i plan on doing. i'm gonna organize my content a little more and do some SEO work, then i'm gonna launch it for PPC.

erm.. maybe get some more content. I think you need more content, just spend a few hours writing a few more articles. Then try and get some links. If it all goes tits up then you haven't wasted your time you have learned something! also, how are you keeping track of your progress if you don't have google analytics?

yeah i'm going to write a couple more articles, like herpes vs. cold sores. well everyone says to use prosper202, but you need a dedicated server for that, which is like $175/month, how do noobs afford that? i'm just going to go with tracking202 and google analytics, i just haven't set it up yet.

You don't need a dedicated server for prosper, just a dedicated domain. You can probably host it on the same cheap shared hosting account you are using for this site.

i made a thread in the 202 forums and one of the moderators said he was "almost 100% sure" i needed a dedicated server.

i found it odd that nicky cakes guide suggested hosting your own prosper tracking if yo had to pay for a dedicated server. how do i get a dedicated domain? i'm using hostgator btw..

You can use any ol' domain for prosper, just register one, a .info is just as good as any other, point it at your hosting and set prosper up under it. If you're with hostgator then you'll need to have an account that allows you to have add on domains. I'm using the plan that costs about $10/month.

hello,
that site have some really potential, you just need to work on content area as well as in layout, look and feel matters a lot, make it some what attractive. Add some more pages so that your user can be kept engaged with stuffs, so that bounce rate remain low. And yes, one more thing there are lots of advertisement in single page it doesn't give a good impression at all to you user. Rest, best of luck and drive some traffic to you site.

My friend you don't need a dedicated server, all you need is a domain name that you don't currently use, or you can buy a .info domain as mentioned above.

Also you don't need to worry about your ads if you are going to offer lots of quality content, people generally wont mind lots of ads if you have lots of quality content on your site.

I like the site layout.

Something that could be helpful from a marketing standpoint: before and after pictures.

SEO: May want to include some meta tags.

Re: Prosper - I would say that you may want to hold off on this until you start ramping up the traffic via PPC. If you do decide to set it up now: Just buy a random .info domain at Namecheap. They were less than $5 last time I checked. Then, host it on your shared server.

Ads looking stand out. Please change the color to fit the color of your website. The default color combination of default adsense ads simply gives you low CTR !

Design is fine.

For adsense, change the colors to make the links look like your nav. Also, put adsense in the left sidebar instead of that banner.
you mean have the adsense text links be the same color of blue or gray as the site?

what's wrong with the banner on the left? that seems like a lot of adsense to be, and i kind of wanted to add some more random affiliate links...

yeah good call on the before and after pictures, i was thinking about adding them. also, i have have a domain for tracking, but whenever i upload prosper and browse to the site, it says that i'm upgrading from 1.4.2 to 1.5.1, and then takes me to an error page and tells me i am missing some file. I made a thread on the prosper forums and am still waiting for help.
