I should have said adwords, not adsense[fixed -xmcp]. Anyway, is the "technique" officially dead now, or was it even alive to begin with? I never even looked at it as an opportunity, however many are claiming they are still making coin promoting such garbage. Thoughts?

Agreed, I'm definitely a CPA guy myself -- but being the devils advocate, clickbank can work if it's an informational niche (eg. fixing a wet celphone, etc.) You'll also find the bids much less competitive so it's generally easier to enter the niche.

Its alive and well. As with anything, it just depends on the niche. If you want to promote water4gas or something like that, good luck.

I personally think long landing pages are the worst. As a consumer myself, I would hate to have read through all that. I would pick someonething short, concise and straight to the point. These are the type of landing pages I create for the offers im promoting, and they are converting really well (greater than 30%).

facebook -> fatloss4idiots/ab workouts comes to mind. international too. i see those ads all the time on facebook here in thailand

i'd say if i was going to go the cheap traffic/clickbank route i'd skip the direct sale and start list building instead. in the long run it would probably work out better for you (not so disheartening when 100 clicks don't convert) and you'd have further chances to sell crap to now prequalified niche traffic.

going for search i'd hit the big niches, rocket languages, surveys, fat loss right at the sweet spot in search. just the product names going in hard and fast aiming for the top 3 spots and ripping ads and lander (styles) along the way. might hurt for the first week but should pay off big week 2+. theres a lot of traffic there in those main keywords i know i used to own most of the top spots for them in the organic listings

it would depend on the cost of the keywords..sometimes that keword cost just crazy..

Cheers,
Donald
