About a year ago I got banned from adwords but I finally got a new account so I think I need to get up to date what's allowed and what not.

Direct linking to affiliate offers?
IQ offers?
Shit like that.

Is there anything I should especially be aware of since I don't want to risk getting banned again?

I get no problems with direct linking (aside from inability to presell) - just make sure offer has no exit pop.

Though I have seen quite a few running, I never touch email/zip submits on G.

if anyone wants to help me get some gaming offers on content network... ill give you some winning campaigns

Hey thanks guys. Seems everything is pretty much the same except they now push the ugly and awkward interface.

learn how to build accounts then promote whatever you want ;)

iow fuck'em they aint the law, just one big ass scraper.

I created a new search campaign and put about 800kws in. My ad got almost instantly approved but my keywords got the "Eligible" status.

What is this? When I hover on it it says "The keyword phrase doesn't currently trigger any of your ads. blah blah"

It's been about 20 hours since when I created the campaign.

Is this normal? From what I remember you instantly got impressions after the ad got approved.

Jose - your account could be under review.....p.s. have fun with the modern version of "quality score"

Duplicate content. If you don't have unique content, it would be like going into a lions den without a shot gun.

Ran a campaign recently, using a 6mth old PR0 site, got around 300 clicks on 200k impressions @ av CPC 30c. Swapped out the display url for a popular PR6 site in the same niche & cloaked the redirect, and received 20k clicks on 8mill impressions @ av CPC of 18c. So site quality/ranking does make a difference.

i cant get direct linking to work..

You're either a fucking idiot, using non-compliant landing pages, or a troll. I've said this many times before - There is NO Google policy against direct linking in AdWords. Probably 99% of AdWords ads are "direct linked" to their final landing page. The only holdups could be if your direct linked LP is non-compliant, or another affiliate is already using the same display URL on the same placement/keyword.

its probably a problem with geo based redirects, i had an account suspended over google's inability to understand basic localization and report what the real issue was (instead they said it was violations of the display url policy). This was rather hilarious given how google uses localization themselves.

Basic lead gen campaigns and no warnings given of course.

While we are talking about misunderstood things on adwords outside of direct linking (specially in this case on search) one point of confusion is "relevancy" and low quality score, which really just means your CTR sucks and google isn't making enough money on your ads. If you get your keyword / ad text ctr up, your quality score will go up, lowering your click costs just like it should.

On a related note, I never tried downloads on adwords and I see them all over the place but I've wondered if google has restricted who can promote them (to big budget advertisers) just because of what the content type is. If they allowed everyone with a toolbar to run wild I could see that being an issue. Wasn't something I was going to promote unless I was specially told it was ok since it tends to be borderline on many traffic sources.
