Affiliate manager contract/agreement

Hi everyone... I need a bit of help...

I've been given the task of running a merchants Affiliate marketing campaign, assuming the role of Affiliate manager I suppose. Is it customary to draw up a contract or agreement for such a thing? If so, would anyone either care to share or possibly recommend a source (internet attorney?) for a sample contract or agreement?

If it's a legitimate company shouldn't they be able to hire you as an employee with commission or as a consultant on a 1099? They should be coming to you with an employment contract... and if they aren't I'd be worried.

Contract or agreement should be first given by the company. If they are not coming with any agreement or contract, I think you should first clear this issue as in order to be at a safer side in future...
