It's in GBP, not USD. £60M was in 2004 though. Nixon said they're on target for over a £100M (about $188M) turnover this year.

Hey you genius, do you even read the article and assume I didn't convert or what is going on:

"'This year we are on target to do well in excess of £100m turnover, and pre-tax profits of more than £30m,' says Nixon."

Thats a $57 mil USD profit, which is why I rounded to 60. Think a little bit more before you talk or I'll make you look like an idiot again.

Also, I estimate I sell around 50,000 leads per day. Anyone can throw out an estimate, mine is off by about 50,000 since I don't sell leads.

But hmmm, estimating 150-200K, that is a huge margin and I doubt it fluctuates that much daily, maybe on the weekends. Just a little more hyperbole on that guys part.

The company's revenue is over $100M a year - it is worth a billion. The more money you have to work with, the more you can put into it for higher returns. If revenue was £60M (equal to over $100M) in 2004, I have no doubt they'll pass £100M this year.
It doesn't matter what their turnover is. Would you pay a billion for a company that has a turnover of £100m, but is only making a profit of £1m? Obviously not saying that this is the case with moneysupermarket, but just highlighting a point. "Turnover is vanity" as they say.

You said their profit is far far less? Remember, this biz has no overhead, and the ROI is insane.
No overheads? They have 400 members of full time staff, several offices, constantly running ads on TV and many other forms of marketing. They've already said that they need to float in order to raise the capital needed to roll out internationally. Besides, they said their profits are expected to be £30m, and that's even before tax.

UK's richest people in 2004 (Source) :
187. Simon Nixon (Internet) - £237m (almost $500M) - And that's from 2004. It's 2 years later now, so I'm sure they're closing in on the billion dollar mark. ;)
Yeah, I'm not saying they're poor by any means :) Just think billionaire is stretching things. I don't know how the Sunday Times came up with that figure. If you lived in the UK you'd know that they're pretty well known for over-estimating on these rich lists though.

It's sort of like saying Kevin Rose is worth $60mm assuming Digg sells for $200mm, which will never happen. Or that Trump is worth a few billion when others say $150-$200mm.

Either way you are F-ing loaded so who cares, enjoy life.

I did assume. It said £60M and you said $60M so I just assumed you didn't notice the £. My bad.

I didn't write the original post, it was an article someone had emailed me. It said "2 British guys" so I thought it was just 2 guys, with an AM biz worth $925M, which is why I posted it. If I knew the $925M was questionable and they had 400 employees I wouldn't have posted. But, it still shows us the potential in AM.

Yeah definitely. It's still inspiring. They've literally scaled up, and up, and up and achieved a level that very few other affiliate marketers have (if any?). Their approach is different though and it may not be for everyone. Some people are happy to keep things simple as a one man operation with careful outsourcing.
